Students learn to adjust for the constraints as well as possibilities in filmed performance. On-Camera Audition Technique workshop: Full-day workshop, co-taught with casting director Marcia DeBonis, for graduating second-year MFA actors. Audition Workshop: An exploration into the unique challenges of the audition process. Introduction to Theatre: Designed to introduce students to the art and practice of theatre. Acting Workshop I: Introduction to scene study for undergraduate students. Introduction to Stanislavski-based techniques as applied to contemporary scene work. Acting Workshop II: Advanced concepts of scene study for undergraduate students. Introduction to Acting: Improvisational exercises, movement, voice work, and text analysis expose students to the building blocks of acting technique. Associate Teacher Contemporary Scene Study: MFA actors explore contemporary texts through scene work. Scene Study II: MFA actors explore the works of Chekhov, Shaw, and Ibsen. Guest Teacher Introduction to Improv: Focused exercises designed to liberate the actor s imagination, truthful expression, and sense of play.

Screen Acting Intensives conducted in a variety of formats (from 1/2 day to weeklong workshops) for a range of academic, training, and private programs in the US and internationally. Often co-taught with actor Damian Young. Professional engagement Spearheaded ongoing visits for students by industry professionals including playwright and screenwriter John Patrick Shanley (Pulitzer, Tony, Oscar), playwright Jose Rivera (Obie, Oscar nomination), actor Kathryn Erbe (11 seasons Law & Order: Criminal Intent), casting director Ellen Lewis (Emmy, CD for Martin Scorsese), director Mark Wing-Davey (Obie, Drama Desk, Head NYU Grad Acting), director and DP John Herron (Law & Order), casting director Laura Rosenthal (Carol, The Kids Are Alright), casting director Gayle Keller (Louie, Inside Amy Schumer).
