As the only dedicated arts provision in the area our vision is to inspire creativity and enrich the lives of our communities by providing a high quality, varied artistic, education and participatory programme. We believe that by offering our communities the chance to engage with and be entertained by a variety of art forms we play a significant role in the cultural, social and economic development of the town. Vehicles: A car, van or lorry may be driven right up to the load in door which leads straight on to the stage (no stairs or ramps). Parking: We will usually be able to accommodate one company vehicle on site at any given time and may be able to offer a second space as parking on site is limited to a maximum of 5 cars / small transits. There is a pay and display car park adjacent to the venue for any extra vehicles and customer parking. There is no provision for truck parking if the truck is larger than our loading bay. Dock Doors: At ground level there is large double door access directly into stage left wing from the loading bay with an opening 1.95m high by 1.65m wide.

The Mill Arts Centre has 2 dressing rooms (suitable for 2 to 3 performers), and one green room (suitable for 4 to 6 performers). The dressing rooms are located on the ground floor, close to the stage left wing. Each dressing room has two mirrors over a bench, one full length mirror and hanging space for costumes. Immediately outside the green room are male and female toilets and a fully accessible toilet. Please note these are also the secondary public toilets, so are used by members of the public. The dressing room will be available to the Company from your arrival until your departure. Additional rooms can be made available if required, but a charge may be applied to the company if not agreed otherwise. There is a washing machine on site which you are welcome to use, on provision of your own washing detergent and conditioner. Additional items available on request include ironing board and iron. 1. Main Auditorium Auditorium Capacity: The venue in usually configured as an end-on space with retractable raked seating. In this configuration the capacity is 237 including three removable rows on floor level containing 20(row C)/19(row B)/18(Row A) seats. The space can be configured in a variety of other ways, including cabaret style, flatfloor/standing, in-theround, traverse or cinema-style, with a film screen at the front of the stage. Capacities for these layouts are reduced, vary and must be discussed at contract stage with the Head of Technical and Production. Auditorium Colour: Black wall and red seats. Stage Size: Maximum W13.4m x D6m with no masking, borders or floor level lighting positions. The standard set up has an approximate size of W7.5m x D6m between masking and the setting line. Grid height is 5.1m. Please note: There is a fire route at the front of the stage between the double doors stage right and double doors to backstage. No substantial set structures can be placed in this route. Props/ furniture can only be placed DS of the setting line during the performance itself but it must be clear pre/post show and during any interval. Stage Floor: Sprung wooden dance floor (extending fully into both wings). It is not possible to fix/screw into this wooden floor. The main stage area can be covered with Black Rosco dance floor (total size: 7.5m wide x 6.4m deep) however this must be agreed at contract stage. Wing Space: Each wing is approximately W2.5m x D5.5m. Please note: Wings are currently in use for storage of access equipment and other items therefore the whole space may not be available. If there is a concern about wing space, please contact the Head of Technical and Production in advance.

Load in Doors: At ground level, fire doors. Opening is 1.95m high by 1.65m wide. Access is directly into the stage left wing from the driveway no steps, stairs or ramps. Backstage crossover: There is no on stage crossover, but there is a scene dock that can be used to crossover between the wings. Drapes/ Masking: The standard end on, black box configuration of the theatre includes: 8 Black Wool Serge Legs 2.5m width, 5.1m drop. 1 Full set split Black Wool Serge Tabs on track, on rear wall. 1 White Cyclorama, created using painted white wall. Access Equipment: 12 rung Zarges. 4 step Zarges step ladder. Power: The main grid is a series of 4 trusses, each with 12x dimmable 15A sockets (fused to 10A). There are 2 bars over the auditorium and 2 over the stage. 48 circuits in total. Control: ETC Element with 2 DMX universes, one touch screen monitor. Universe 1 runs in-house dimming and architecture as standard. Universe 2 has output points available on stage right. Lanterns: 6 ETC Source Four 750W fresnels 2 ETC Source Four 750W zoom profiles (25-50 ) 8 ETC Source Four 575W Junior Zoom profiles (25-50 ) 12 ETC Source Four Pars (750W) 4 ETC Source Four Multipar 4-way floods (each way 750W) Equipment available for an additional hire fee: 1 Look Solutions Unique 2.1 Haze Machine The Mill Arts Centre stocks a wide range of LEE Filters Gel and a selection of GOBOs. Further details may be acquired as necessary from the Head of Technical and Production. Pre-rigging: This will be an option made available at contract stage and upon discussion of the show technical requirements with the Head of Technical and Production.

Control: Yamaha LS9 16 channel digital mixer 16 in and 8 out. Infrastructure: There is a 32-way multi-core which runs from Upstage Right to the control room, with the last 8 channels being returns outputting on male xlr at the stage end Microphones: 4 Shure SM58 vocal mics 4 Shure SM57 instrument mics 2 Shure Beta57a instrument mics 1 Shure Beta52a instrument mic 4 Sennheiser e604 clip on drum mics 2 AKG C451 Pencil Condenser 2 AKG C214 Large Diaphragm Condenser Amplification: 4 Yamaha P7000s dual-channel amplifiers 1 Nexo DTD Digital System Processor Speakers: 2 Nexo PS15 R2 full range loudspeaker flown 2 Nexo LS18 Subwoofer, flown 4 Yamaha SM15V as foldback/monitors. 4 Tecpro single circuit belt-pack 4 Single Muff Headsets 2 Tecpro wall boxes, one in the green room, one located in the duty managers office.

Infrastructure: A permanently installed, automated projection screen in the grid, suitable for cinemastyle film screenings. Equipment: 1 Blu-ray Player Equipment available for an additional hire fee: 1 Panasonic projector permanently installed. 5000 lumens; VGA, HDMI, DVI-D and composite (RCA/phono) video inputs; vertical keystone; vertical and horizontal lens shift; approx 4 years old) Please Note: As The Mills equipment is heavily used please check with the Head of Technical and Production as to the availability of items not indicated in general plans Driving: Banbury is easily accessible from the M40 exit at Junction 11. Public Transport: The Mill is located less than 5 minute s walk from Banbury train station. It is also situated next to the bus station in the town centre. The Mill building also has a dance/rehearsal studio and additional meeting/activity rooms. These spaces are not reserved for use by the Company as standard, so if you wish to use them please advise us a minimum of two weeks before arrival. Additional charges may apply. There is a Green Room with a kettle and fridge and where tea and coffee can be made using the venue's facilities. Coffee, tea, cold drinks, baguettes/sandwiches and cakes, as well as other refreshments are available in the Mills Café. There is a Chinese restaurant, Tesco Metro and several eatery s 5 minutes from the theatre, or there are several options a short drive from the venue. There is a wide choice of restaurants and cafes either in town or close. Smoking is not allowed in the building at any time. There is a smoking area at the rear of the building next to the load in door. Updated July 2018
