Cast/Characters Jimmy Winter: Male, 20 s - 30 s. A wealthy and handsome playboy, dripping with charm and charisma. Tenor. Must move well. Billie Bendix: Female, 20 s - 30 s. A tough, feisty, street-wise young woman. Partners in rum-running with Cookie and Duke. Has always lived in a man s world until she meets Jimmy and falls in love. Actress must be a skilled farceur and must move well. Cookie McGee: Male, 30 s+. A fast-talking, wise-cracking bootlegger. Can talk anyone into or out of anything. He is mistaken for Jimmy s butler, and has to keep up the charade. Actor must understand old-fashioned vaudeville-style comedy a la Abbott and Costello. Character baritone. Duke Mahoney: Male, 30 s+. Cookie s sidekick. Not the brightest guy around. Very shy with women. By circumstance, he must pass himself off as the Duke of England. Falls in love with the beautiful chorus girl Jeannie Muldoon. Baritone. Eileen Evergreen: Female, 20 s - 30 s. Lush and lovely, she is the self-proclaimed finest interpreter of modern dance in the world - as well as being spoiled rotten and completely self-involved. Jimmy s fiancée and Senator Evergreen s daughter. A dish with great comic skills. Classically trained Soprano and mix. Must move very well. Senator Max Evergreen: Male, 50 s+. Eileen s father. A humorless career politician. Serious, stern, and judgmental. Very distinguished-looking. In his youth, he was in love with Millicent Winter, Jimmy s mother. Non-singing. Estonia Dulworth, the Duchess of Woodford: Female, 40 s+. Upper-class, bejeweled dowager. Fervent prohibitionist - but underneath, there is a wild spirit just waiting to be freed. Strong belt and mix; legit head voice is a plus. Jeannie Muldoon: Female, 20 s. Lovely chorus girl from Brooklyn. Falls in love with Duke, who she thinks is the Duke of England. She still loves him for who he is once she finds out the truth. They are the perfect couple - not too bright, but winning. Strong belt. Strong dancer. Chief Berry: Male, 40 s. Chief of the Long Island Police Department. Fiercely - and to a fault - dedicated to his job. Seems gruff on the outside. Baritone. Millicent Winter: Female, 60 s. Jimmy s mother. She is Auntie Mame ; full of life, with absolutely no pretenses, even though she is unbelievably rich. Lives life to the fullest. Has sex appeal. We find out she made all of her money as a rumrunner. Non-singing. Ensemble: Male and female roles available. Varied ages (17+), must be strong singers and dancers.

After Auditions Cast Announcement The cast will be announced as soon as the production staff have reviewed and discussed each applicant. You will be contacted by phone. Casting will be dependent on the audition and the actors schedules. As the show evolves, rehearsals will start requiring all actors to be present. Some rehearsals will go longer than scheduled. We ask for your understanding in this part of the creative process. We ask that all actors bring a pencil with them to mark blocking and choreography notes in their scripts. It is expected that all cast will be on time to their scheduled rehearsals. Do not be late. Tardiness disrupts the production. The cast will be responsible for notifying the director, music director, stage manager, or one of the producers if they will be late or absent. Headshots/Publicity Cast members will have their headshots placed in the display cases in front of the theater. Each cast member will be financially responsible for the cost of their headshot ($5.00) No photos will be on display without approval from the director. There will be a photographer arranged for those who do not yet have a headshot on file with the theater. Each cast member is requested to help promote the production through your local organizations, schools, places of employment, or other civic duties. The production staff has additional opportunities to promote the production and will be looking for volunteers to help. If you have ideas, please let a member of the production staff know. Please, remember that although you may not agree with all of the decisions in the production of the show, you are expected to support the show and its production staff. We would like for this to be a positive experience for everyone. Cast Extras All cast and crew will have the opportunity to purchase memorabilia commemorating the production. This is not a required or mandatory purchase.
