Crossing Delancey Written by Susan Sandler JANUARY 27 FEBRUARY 19, 2012 So, do yourself a mitzvah: Come to New York s Lower East Side, visit with Izzy, sit a spell with her Bubbie (grandmother) in this romantic comedy as Izzy yearns to trade her traditional Jewish upbringing for the slick glamour of Manhattan s literary scene. Learn from Bubbie s old-world wisdom as she encourages Izzy to find real happiness by choosing a nice pickle salesman from the neighborhood over a sophisticated author. L chaim! Starring Beverley Griffith as Bubbie An amusing romance that tells its unpretentious story believably, rarely trying to make its gag lines, of which there are many, upstage its narration or outshine its heart.
