Nye Library Presents THE TATTLER Volume 3, Issue 8 August 2010 Back to School Bash Join us at Nye Library on Saturday, August 21st from 10am-noon as we celebrate the start of a new school year. Children of all ages can make fun school related crafts to get in the spirit of starting or going back to school! New Materials Check out some of our new items! Books: Neverland by Douglas Clegg ( F Clegg) Sizzling Sixteen by Janet Evanovich (F Evanovich) Overton Window by Glenn Beck (F Beck) P u p p e t T h e a t re Our puppet performance will be Friday, August 13th at 11am in the children s room at Nye Library. After the show we will make a craft related to the show. Please join us for some fantastic fun! Puppet shows will be performed once a month so mark your calendars. Science Explosion If you enjoy science, then this is the program for you! Join us at Nye Library on August 26th from 4:30 5:30 as we explore the world of science. KID S BOOK CLUB Nye Library offers a Children s Book Club. Children 3rd grade and up are welcome! If you are interested in reading and discussing literature with others, then join us every Wednesday from 4 5pm. We will be reading out loud and asking questions. For more information call 442-2048 or ask at Nye Library. BOOK CLUB FOR GROWN-UPS For adults interested in reading and discussing literature with others, please join the Nye Library Book Club which is held from 2-4 pm the first Sunday of every month (unless the library is closed or it is a holiday weekend). The book we are discussing on August 1 is Over My Dead Body by Rex Stout. Please bring book recommendations and friends! For more details call 442-2048 or ask at the Nye Library circulation desk. SCRAP-BOOKING CLUB Nye Library offers a scrap-booking club. If you enjoy scrap-booking, sharing creative ideas, or want to start a hobby, please come to the library or call 442-2048 for details. The club will be held every Saturday afternoon at 1pm in Room D. We provide some supplies. Remember to bring your photographs and other scrap-booking needs. S T O R Y T I M E Join us every Wednesday at 11am in the children s library room for fun stories, creative activities, and cool crafts! Starting back up from the Summer break July 28th. Wii Game Systems! We have two new Wii game systems! One system is available for young adults in the Young Adult library room. Another game system is available for adults in Room 4. Sign out a key at the circulation desk. No outside games allowed. Check out our Wii games or chose a game from our list. Wii Games are available at the circulation desk. Reservations for use of Room 4 may be made at the circulation desk. If people are waiting to use the room, a time limit of one hour will be enforced. Up to four individuals may participate in a game, so bring your friends! Individuals using the Wii systems will be responsible for returning all checked out items (remotes, keys, games). Make sure you turn items into Library staff; staff must check the gear and system before you can leave. Have fun!
