No time to stand beneath the boughs And stare as long as sheep or cows. No time to see when woods we pass, Where squirrels hide their nuts in grass No time to see in broad daylight, Streams full of stars, like skies at night No time to turn at Beauty s glance, And watch her feet how they could dance. No time to wait till her mouth can Enrich that smile her eyes began. A poor life this if, full of care We have no time to stand and stare. W. H. Davis (1871 1940) T: Well, What is the poem about? Yes, sometimes we don t have time to enjoy the beauty and happiness of the moment. But there is one thing in our life and it is one of the greatest achievements in the history of mankind, which can stop the moment of the beauty, make it immortal. What am I talking about? Suddenly, I'm not half to man I used to be, There's a shadow hanging over me. Oh, yesterday came suddenly. Why she had to go I don't know shewoldn't say. I said something wrong, now I long for yesterday. Yesterday, love was such an easy game to play. Now I need a place to hide away. Oh, I believe in yesterday. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
