Mental Health Awareness Month May is Mental Health Awareness Month. To commemorate the month, we are hosting a series of events at the library. The Silver Linings Playbook Book Discussion The library will host not one but two book talks on The Silver Linings Playbook by Matthew Quick. In The Silver Linings Playbook, Pat Peoples formulates a theory about silver linings during the years he spent in a neural health facility. He believes his life is a movie produced by God, his mission is to become physically fit and emotionally supportive, and his happy ending will be the return of his estranged wife, Nikki. When Pat goes to live with his parents, everything seems changed: no one will talk to him about Nikki; his old friends are saddled with families; the Philadelphia Eagles keep losing, making his father moody; and his new therapist seems to be recommending adultery as a form of therapy. From the Publisher The Winona Public Library s Book Discussion will discuss Pat, the emotional roller coaster called life, and the silver linings behind it all on Wednesday, May 2 nd at 2PM in the Library s Bell Art Room. If you cannot make Book Discussion, the library is hosting a second book talk on Thursday, May 3 rd at. If you cannot make either book talk, but would like to follow along and share your thoughts, go to http:// tinyurl.com/winonapubliclibraryreads and let us know what you thought.
