High density cable management Half the size, weight & power consumption The NVISION 8288 and the 8288-Plus are the world s smallest broadcast quality large scale routers. Ideal for truck and flypack applications, the routers are two and a half times as dense as other routers. However, they deliver the same high level performance as NVISION Enterprise Class routers. The routers provide excellent signal integrity, robust operation, and exceptional design quality. Scalable architecture The routers scalable architecture supports high-density matrices, starting at 12 x 12 and up to 288 x 576 in single 10RU, and up to 576 x 576 in two s. The truck routers can be configured for asymmetric matrices in view of the fact that many mobile applications include extensive monitoring needs. Linear expansion reduces total cost The linear expansion of the router is achieved using multi-conductor cables, without the requirement of any additional external equipment. This linear expandability eliminates costly, space consuming external input distribution fan-outs and output secondary switching altogether. It also removes the inherent termination problems of external passive splitters and combiners. The end result is greater system signal integrity, with fewer signal errors and bigger loss budgets. High density packaging also maximizes available rack space, and simplifies systems engineering. High density cable management The use of high density, DIN 1.0/2.3 connectors provides cable densities two to three times that of conventional BNCs. These connectors exceed the SMPTE return loss specifications, and allow a smaller for a shorter internal PCB circuit path. This provides the best possible signal launch profile, and allows longer cable lengths. Unique fault-tolerant design The NVISION 8288 and 8288-Plus truck routers are designed for reliability, fault tolerance and redundancy. All input and output modules, crosspoint modules, power supplies, controllers, and fans are front removable and hot-swappable. No rear cables need to be removed for servicing or maintenance, and power supplies are fully 1-on-1 redundant with continuous load sharing between the supplies. Powerful router control Designed to grow with your needs, the NVISION router control system offers a full complement of user interface options, along with full redundancy, and an easyto-use Java based configuration editor.
