We are proud to announce our fantastic results!! In total, 81 1st division medals were awarded. 47 of those were awarded for Class 1 Solos. Class 1 are the most difficult solos on the UIL music list. 22 medals were awarded to Class 1 Ensembles. 9 medals were awarded to Class 2 Solos (medium-difficult) and 3 medals were awarded for a class 2 ensemble. None of our students earned a rating lower than a division 2 (excellent) on a 1-5 scale and none of our students performed a class 3 solo or ensemble which are considered the easiest on the UIL music list. 30 students earned a trip to the UIL State Solo & Ensemble Contest which is held Memorial Day weekend in Austin. Our students will perform at Hendrickson HS in Pflugerville ISD. To earn a trip to state, a student must earn a 1st division rating on a class 1 ensemble or earn a division 1 rating on a class 1 solo that was performed by memory. Sectionals for both the Honors and Symphonic Bands will take place to insure our success at UIL Concert & Sight-reading contest on April 5.
