Tuesday 7/17 Colorado Jazz Orchestra A perennial favorite, the Colorado Jazz Orchestra includes our UNC Jazz Faculty plus some of the best jazz musicians from the state and beyond. Hear big band classics and new arrangements from leading jazz performers and composers. All concerts start at 8pm at Garden Theatre Sunday 7/8 UNC Bluegrass Faculty UNC s own folk and bluegrass faculty return for an evening of both familiar tunes and inventive originals. These musicians have toured and recorded with artists around the country, performing on stages and festivals that include Red Rocks, Telluride Bluegrass Festival, and RockyGrass. Tuesday 7/10 The Burroughs Steeped in classic soul standards and outfitted with modern flair, The Burroughs are a nine-piece band with a powerhouse sound that has been electrifying audiences across Colorado and beyond. We re thrilled to welcome these hometown favorites back to the Garden Theatre stage. Sunday 7/15 Mariachi Aztlán and Ballet Folklorico Hear the powerful sound of a 20-piece band and vocalists accompanied by the beauty of ballet folklorico dancers. Experience dazzling arrangements, virtuosic soloists, and beautiful mariachi classics. This awardwinning group has traveled extensively throughout the U.S., Mexico, and Canada as musical ambassadors. Sunday 7/22 Hal Aqua and the Lost Tribe Hal Aqua and the Lost Tribe play klezmer fusion music an exuberant musical experience, rooted firmly in traditional Jewish modes and melodies and driven by contemporary rhythms and danceable grooves. The versatile musicians steep their songs in a broth spiced with rock, reggae, salsa, funk and blues influences, serving up an irresistible party vibe. Tuesday 7/24 Paa Kow Ghana-born drummer and composer Paa Kow fuses elements of Ghanaian highlife with elements of jazz, funk, and African pop to create his unique Afro-fusion sound set apart by its flexibility and finesse. Fans from all over the world agree that Paa Kow has extraordinary talent and holds the perfect groove. Free seating available for all concerts on lawn.
