It will take about 20~30 seconds for DC-105 to boot. When the boot process is completed, it begins to transmit the camera video from the yellow BNC connector in DVB-T, and the CVBS output (thru the black BNC) is also present. A yellow LED will be on when transmitter is on. Note: 1. Default RF channel is CH21, Frequency: 474MHz, BW:8 MHz, unless specified. 2. When initialization done, ###Camera Boot Finished### message will be shown in the UART debug port output; refer to more details below. Connect to a DVB-T receiver Power LED (red) Transmitter LED (yellow) DVB-T RF output (Connected to receiver) 1. Connect the video RF output to a coaxial cable (or an antenna). A DVB-T receiver can be either DVB-T TV, DVB-T STB or DVB-T USB receiver dongle. 2. The video output is full HD 1920x1080x30P H.264 format. Please make sure your receiver is capable of HD decoding. (Many old DVB-T STB s or TV s can only decode 720x576 SD). 3. Default RF channel is CH21, Frequency:474MHz, BW:8 MHz, unless specified. Adjust the Focus of the Lens By default the focus of the lens may not be correct. Please turn the lens clockwise or WWW.HIDES.COM.TW 3
anti-clockwise to get the best focus. Connect to a CVBS monitor A CVBS video output is optional. If it s enabled, when the system boot is completed, there is a standard CVBS video output (default PAL). Mic-in If it s bare bone DC-105, a condenser microphone is included. WWW.HIDES.COM.TW 4
If DC-105 with housing, a 3.5mm Phone Jack is provided. Note: By default MIC-in feature is disabled. When you want to enable MIC-in feature, it s recommended to disable CVBS output with the configuration kit for better audio quality. USB UART Dongle The USB UART dongle can be used to configure DC-105 or monitor the system boot status. WWW.HIDES.COM.TW 5
You may connect the UAB UART to a Laptop PC. On most Windows platforms, the driver will be installed with in-box driver automatically. However, if Windows prompts to install driver for the new device, please run PL2303_Prolific_DriverInstaller_v1.7.0.exe, which can be found in the folder \PL2303_Prolific_DriverInstaller_v1.7.0 If the device driver is installed well, there will be a new Com Port device, shown in Windows Device Manager. The com port assignment may vary depending on the PC configurations. In the following example, COM5 is assigned. The following picture show how the USB UART dongle is connected to DC-105. Green wire: RXD White wire: TXD Black wire: GND Monitor Boot Messages When you connect the USB UART dongle to a Laptop PC, and driver is well installed, you may use any UART terminal application (for example, Tera Term) or the DC-105 configuration tool ite_serialtool.exe (described below) to monitor debug message. The default communication parameters are 115200,n,8,1. WWW.HIDES.COM.TW 7
Tera Term. ite_serialtool.exe: WWW.HIDES.COM.TW 8
Custom Configuration Users may customize the configurations with a PC tool thru the USB UART dongle. Connect the USB UART dongle to a Laptop PC, and make sure driver is well installed as described in previous paragraph. WWW.HIDES.COM.TW 9
Launch ite_serialtool.exe. Specify the correct COM port which corresponds to the USB UART dongle, then click on Open button. Note: The com port s friendly name is Prolific USB-to-Serial Comm Port (COMxx). The following shows the USB UART dongle is open successfully. Click on Get button to retrieve current configurations. WWW.HIDES.COM.TW 1 0
If it fails to open the COM port, it shows the following message on the caption bar. Please check if the USB UART dongle is currently open by any other UART terminal application. Update Firmware First of all, please prepare a clean USB disk with FAT32 file system and copy the following files to the root directory of the USB disk. Don t use NTFS formatted file system. Note: 1. In Windows, you may click on the flash disk with right mouse button to check its file system property. 2. It s recommended the USB disk is clean without any other files or folder expect the 5 firmware files. A newly formatted disk is preferred. These five files can be found in the folder \Firmware of the software package of DC-105 sunmoretek.cchdtv.update uimage.sh1x2l u-boot-sh1x2l.bin data.sh132l.jffs2.img rootfs.squashfs.img Note: these files should be in the root directory of the flash disk, as shown below. WWW.HIDES.COM.TW 1 6
The following steps describe how to update DC-105 firmware 1. Power off DC-105 2. Open the camera housing ( You may skip this step for DC-105-BB or DC-105H-BB) *Loosen the cover screw * Remove the housing and *Loosen two screws the lens cover to get the main board 3. Push the cables and pull out the main board carefully until you can see the whole camera module. ( You may skip this step for DC-105-BB or DC-105H-BB) 4. Connector USB UART dongle to a laptop PC, as shown below, WWW.HIDES.COM.TW 1 7
5. Launch ite_serialtool.exe or any UART console to monitor the debug messages. UART communication parameters:115200,n,8,1 6. Attach the USB disk with the special USB cable to the tiny connector in the middle of the main board of DC-105. Refer to the picture below. 7. Power on DC-105 8. It will take about 3 minutes and you will see the following messages on the UART terminal.
