In groups you will be taking some photos and writing a short poem about it You may have to take many photos before you decided which one Use the camera setting most appropriate for what you are taking a photo of The picture should tell a story so think carefully about every detail such as what s going on in the background of the shot. Yours is going to be a short poem Think about the types and features of poems that we looked at today Are you going to make it a narrative, non-sense, fixed poem and are you going to use metaphors, personification and/or rhyming words? You can follow a process of planning, drafting and editing process to improve your work and to sustain your writing Extension activity if time allows Present and discuss Everyone must say something in the presentation Present your poem What did you learn from listening to other group s presentations? 6

Homework Try to repeat the process by taking more pictures and applying different types and features that you have learnt about You could make a mini poem book, use ribbon to tie it up at the edges, be sure to make sure the image you have taken is next to the poem. 7
