Radio 2 & 3FM - NPO, the Netherlands Erik van Hengstum NPO creates huge national impact with its yearly radio events Serious Request on channel 3FM and Top 2000 on channel Radio 2. Visual radio is at the heart of both events and has helped in reaching millions of people during these events. Pure Vision, Pure FM - RTBF, Belgium Laurent Finet, Head of Digital Radio Strategy Pure FM is a radio channel broadcasting pop, rock and alternative music targeted at 18-35 years old. Set up with cameras in the studio, Pure Vision hopes to offer ongoing visualization. MNM, VRT, Belgium Wim Moortgat, Manager Radio Operations MNM is a radio channel targeted at younger audiences. In June 2013, MNM organized its exam period marathon radio. This year visualization and usergenerated content through social media played a strong part. Following upon this and other experiments, new plans are being made, including a tender that will be published soon for a new visual radio infrastructure for MNM and the other radio channels. Bridging online & radio, the programme has become a brand new fully visualised show, interacting with listeners and playing the music they want. BBC - Live Music events Sam Bailey, Multiplatform editor for live music events & Philippa Aylott, Editor, BBC Radio 2 The objective for the 2013 edition of the Glastonbury Festival was to create a unique & one stop Glastonbury experience regardless of the platform. PROGRAMME 5 15:30 16:15 CASE STUDIES: FOCUS ON SPECIFIC PROGRAMMES & CHANNELS (CONT ) Swedish Radio, Sweden Tomas Granryd, Channel Manager, SR The Swedish Radio has been visualizing its morning show for a while. But the collaboration with the television company that is distributing the video has proved difficult and SR has decided to stop its experiment in December 2013 WDR, Germany Anja Negendanck, Online editor Radio 1LIVE aims to make its annual award show 1LIVE Krone an experience for listeners on the radio as well as for users online, with a clear emphasis on visual coverage. Several video live streams, accompanied by a comment stream and social media blog, create an interactive web event. Croatian Radio, Croatia Silvio Sop, Assistant PD, New Media The Croatian Radio, part of Croatian Radio Television, started broadcasting occasionally Internet videos of radio shows in 2008. One thing led to another and in 2012, a Multimedia Production Room was built. It is now used on a daily basis to go live with radio shows on radio waves, but also to record videos which are later aired on HRT 4, a channel specially dedicated to news programmes. 16:15 16:30 Summary & conclusions by Justin Kings 16:45 End of the Network & Learn
