Učna enota študentu oz. študentki daje vpogled v razsežnosti teoretskih oz. metodoloških sprememb, ki so se v umetnostni zgodovini zgodile v zadnjih tridesetih letih. Študent oz. študentka natančneje spoznava posamezne teoretske pristope, zgodovino njihovega oblikovanja in razvoja. Sooča se s posameznimi argumenti in kontorverzami, ki se v humanistiki oz. umetnostni zgodovini pojavljajo zaradi različnih pogledov na problematiko interpretacije. Posebna pozornost je namenjena nekaterim teoretskim smerem, ki jih povezujemo s kritično teorijo in so še posebej uporabne pri umetnostnozgodovinski interpretaciji: marksizem, feminizem, psihoanaliza, semiotika in poststrukturalizem. Pri posamezni teoretski smer študent oz. študentka spozna: oblikovanje in razvoj teoretske smeri z glavnimi predstavniki in njihovimi deli; uporabo temeljnih konceptov in modelov v umetnostni zgodovini; glavne predstavniki smeri, ki se ukvarjajo z interpretacijo likovnih del, in njihova dela; uporabnost posameznih konceptov pri interpretaciji izbranih likovnih del. This course offers students an insight into the broad theoretical and methodological changes that have occurred in art history over the last thirty years. Students become familiar with individual approaches and the history of their formation and development. They also learn about specific debates and controversies that have appeared in the humanities and art history due to different views of interpretation. Particular attention is paid to theoretical orientations that can be linked to Critical Theory and employed in art historical interpretation: Marxism, feminism, psychoanalysis, semiotics and post-structuralism. In the case of individual theoretical approaches, students learn about: - its formation and development, its main proponents and their works; - the use of basic concepts and models in art history; - the main representatives of approaches to interpretation of works of visual art and their work; - the use of specific concepts in the interpretation of selected works of art.

Cilji in kompetence: Učna enota prispeva predvsem k razvoju naslednjih splošnih in specifičnih kompetenc: razumevanje logike zgodovinskega razvoja umetnostne zgodovine oz. posameznih teoretskih pristopov, ki so (bili) v uporabi znotraj discipline; razumevanje sodobnih umetnostnozgodovinskih teoretskih pristopov, ki temeljijo na kritični teoriji; razumevanje prepletenosti, nasprotovanja in dopolnjevanja posameznih sodobnih umetnostnozgodovinskih teoretskih pristopov; sposobnost kritičnega pristopanja k najnovejšim teoretskim smernicam tako znotraj umetnostne zgodovine kot tudi znotraj humanistike; usposobljenost za oblikovanje prodornih umetnostnozgodovinskih raziskovalnih problemov, razvijanje strategij za njihovo reševanje in razvijanje argumentacije; usposobljenost za iskanje novih virov znanja na strokovnem in znanstvenem področju; usposobljenost za pisno in ustno predstavitev svojih idej na ustrezen način. Predvideni študijski rezultati: Znanje in razumevanje: poznavanje sodobnih umetnostnozgodovinskih teoretskih pristopov - zgodovinski razvoj posameznih smeri; najpomembnejše teoretike, ki so narekovali razvoj posameznih smeri, in njihova glavna dela; glavne Objectives and competences: This course contributes to the development of the following general and specific competences: - the understanding of the logic of the historical development of art history and specific theoretical approaches within it; - the understanding of the contemporary arthistorical theoretical approaches, based on Critical Theory; - the understanding of the interconnection, the contradicting and supplementing of the contemporary art-historical theoretical approaches; - the ability to approach critically the latest theoretical tendencies within art history and also within the humanities in general; - the ability to formulate advanced art-historical research problems, to develop strategies for their solution and to argument the results; - the ability to search for new sources of knowledge in the field of professional and scientific inquiry; - the ability to present one s own thoughts in the adequate written and oral form. Intended learning outcomes: Knowledge and understanding: - knowledge of the contemporary art-historical theoretical approaches and of historical development of specific theoretical tendencies; of their most important proponents in their main works; of the key concepts, models and problems of

Metode poučevanja in učenja: predavanja ob slikovnem gradivu; diskusija ob izbranih likovnih delih; samostojno branje literature; samostojni študij študenta oz. študentke. Learning and teaching methods: - lectures supported by visual material; - discussion on chosen works of art; - independent reading of literature; - student's independent study. Načini ocenjevanja: Način (pisni izpit, ustno izpraševanje, naloge, projekt) a) metode ocenjevanja: v končni oceni se upošteva: - sodelovanje pri diskusijah (30%) - ustni izpit (70%) b) ocenjevalna lestvica: 1-5 negativno, 6-10 pozitivno; za ocenjevanje velja Statut Univerze v Ljubljani in izpitni režim Filozofske fakultete.
