We launched our second Arabic channel Zee Alwan. The period gone by has indeed been very rewarding for ZEE. We were also presented 'Dun & Bradstreet - Rolta Corporate Awards 2011 for being the best company in the M&E sector. The Annual Report 2010-11 received Silver at the League of American Communications Professionals 2010-11 Vision Awards for being one of the best scripted and presented Investor documents. In programming, Zee TV team won Silver at the prestigious PromaxBDA 20 in two categories - Best Drama campaign for Afsar Bitiya and for the Best Public Service announcement - Speed Limit. Zee Talkies won Best Publicity & Distribution awards for the movie Zhakaas from the Pune Press Guild and there was a triple win for Ten Sports team at Promax Arabia for winning the Best Sports Promo - Gold for The US Open Big Apple, Best Special Event / Launch - Gold for The US Open Big Apple and Best Sports Campaign - Silver for El Clasico Barcelona Vs Real Madrid. Our flagship Zee TV, ventured into the horror genre with Fear Files based on the real life spine chilling episodes of common people. Zee TV s DID created history by entering the book of Guinness World Records for the largest Bollywood Dance. DID also unveiled the first of its kind WAP site and Mobile Application in India. DID L il Masters returned with a bang scoring the biggest opening amongst all non-fiction launches across Hindi GECs. On Zee Cinema, Don 2 The 650 million + viewers 05 continents 169 countries 30 channels 24/7 entertainment Game made a great impact. Before the premier this game gathered a fan count of 11,069 members in days, it collected over 5500 likes in 7 days and a Lifetime Application Installation No. 2303. The movie later premiered on both, Zee Cinema and Zee TV. Our next premier was Agneepath which premiered catapulting the channel to the top slot with 158 GRPs, week 24 among Hindi Movie Channels. In the regional space, Zee Tamizh's program Solvathellam Unmai helped solve a triple murder mystery and was showcased as a case study on a leading crime TV show and got covered on the front page of Times of India, nationally. Zee Talkies rewrote the rules of Box Office by delivering the biggest hit of recent times in Marathi Cinema with the movie Kaksparsh. In English entertainment, Zee Café has been into the top 3 players since the beginning of 20 The jubilations continued with the launch of several award nights, honoring top performers both, from our channels and our society, at large. We celebrated the 5th Gold Awards by Zee TV with the honorable jury that included; Dheeraj Kumar, Renuka Shahane, Vipul.D. Shah and Amit Tyagi. We also had the Zee Gaurav Awards in Marathi that honored several Super Stars from the Marathi Entertainment Industry. Other award nights included, Zee Kutumba Awards in Kannanda and Telugu that were held for the first time in the Regional Market felicitating its most loved TV stars. Aug, 20 Around ZEE ZEE WINS BUSINESSWORLD INFOCOM ICT AWARDS 20 Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited has been adjudged the best company in the Media & Entertainment sector as well as the growth category, first edition of the Businessworld Infocom ICT awards. Mr. Punit Goenka, Managing Director & CEO received the award at a glittering ceremony in New Delhi on March 19, 20 Besides a comprehensive methodology to evaluate the strength of each media company, including extensive research, the award evaluation process drew on the combined experience of eminent jury who looked at the past three years of performance while making their choice. PUNIT GOENKA ADDRESSED A STANDALONE KEYNOTE AT FICCI FRAMES 20 AND INITIATED 'BARC' FOR THE M&E INDUSTRY Punit Goenka delivered a keynote address at FICCI Frames 20. Post the standalone keynote, Punit was also a part of the panel discussion on the topic 'Maximizing the power of Digital Distribution.' At the end of the session, Punit along with members of the panel and IBF, formally announced the official formation of a nationwide audience research joint body, Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) in association with The Indian Broadcasting Foundation (IBF), the Indian Society of Advertisers (ISA) and Advertising Agencies Association of India (AAAI). Indian Broadcasting Federation (IBF) will have 60 per cent stake in the new entity, while ISA and AAAI will equally hold the balance 40 per cent. The primary objective of BARC is to conduct and commission market research using appropriate research methodologies, to provide accurate, up to date and relevant findings relating to broadcast audiences, including TV ratings. The Board of the council will have 10 members, 6 members from the IBF and 2 members each from the ISA and AAAI. ZEE TV'S 'DANCE INDIA DANCE' BREAKS GUINNESS WORLD RECORD FOR THE LARGEST BOLLYWOOD DANCE! Mumbai witnessed a euphoric moment when a massive crowd of more than 5000 people along with Dance India Dance mentors and contestants broke the prestigious Guinness World Record for the largest Bollywood Dance! Nearly 10000 people filled their entries online to rehearse the dance step while thousands more thronged the grounds to be a part of this historical moment even before the doors opened. Aug, 20 ZEE ENTERTAINMENT ENTERPRISES LLC LAUNCHED A NEW ARABIC CHANNEL ZEE ALWAN Zee Alwan is a unique channel aimed at Arab family audiences, including a diverse choice of Arabic serials and hugely popular Indian TV serials dubbed in Arabic. This is the first time that some of India's most popular television serials are brought to the Middle East in Arabic. The channel taps on growing popularity of Bollywood in the Arab world as well as the strong and historic cultural links between the Arab world and India, with the Indian family serials set to appeal to Arabic audiences.
