LOW VOLTAGE POWER CAPACITOR Mikro's capacitors are designed for power factor correction in low voltage applications such as motors, transformers, generators and supply cables. The capacitors are manufactured using metallised polypropylene film as the dielectric. The dry type capacitor operates within a cylindrical aluminium case which improves the thermal response and simplifies installation. MIKRO DETUNED REACTOR Modern electronic power apparatus such as drives and uninterruptable power supplies produce nonlinear current which in turn introduces line pollution into networks in the form of harmonics. When these harmonics interacts with power factor correction capacitors and the inductance of the feeder transformer, a resonance phenomenon occurs. The resonance phenomenon causes excessive voltage and current that is detrimental to the power factor capacitors.
