Camino Real 4:00 pm Antonio Iturrioz: Gottschalk and Cuba: Breaking Musical Barriers with Unique Style Lecture Recital Louis Moreau Gottschalk (1829-1869) during his short, tragic but glorious life broke many musical barriers. In this lecture-recital, Mr. Iturrioz will cover Gottschalk s time in Cuba, perform and discuss his original transcription of the 2nd movement Night in the Tropics, and his influence on Cuban pianist-composers from his generation through Lecuona.
