Answer Primo searches any of the following areas: the library s collections of print and electronic books, print and electronic journals, theses, media resources, course reserves materials. 21 Top 10 FAQs Question I have too many results how can I narrow my search results? Answer Primo allows you to apply a filter to your results after you have done a search. Notice the links at the left hand side of the results screen where you can select to show electronic resources or available items or you can limit by Library, Collection Type, Subject, Name or Date. 22 11
Top 10 FAQs Question How do I email or print my results? Answer For individual records, click on the details tab and select the email option from the Send to drop down option. When there are multiple records you wish to send, begin by clicking on the tiny star (it will fill in with orange) to the left of preferred records to place these items in the e-shelf. Select the e-shelf link to view your marked records. Email or print selected items in your list. 23 Top 10 FAQs Question How and why do I log in to My Account? Answer Users may click on the My Account link to renew items, check fines and hold requests. Once logged in, users will have access to other features such as e-shelf, saved searches, alerts. Users will also be able to set default preferences for number of results displayed and default email address. 24 12
Top 10 FAQs Question How do I make a request for a specific item? Answer Locate the item you wish to request. Click on the Request tab. Once logged in, choose the Make Request option and complete the type of request that you want to make. 25 Top 10 FAQs Question Will my Primo session time out? Answer Your Primo session will automatically time out after 30 minutes of inactivity. At that time, your Primo session will restart. 26 13
Top 10 FAQs Question How can I find the most recent edition of an item? Answer Once you have identified the title, click on the number of versions link at the far right. Doing this changes the display to show all versions of this title. Above the results, click on the sorted by drop down menu and choose datedescending. 27 Top 10 FAQs Question What does Not available mean? Answer The item is not currently available for loan. Click on the Locations tab to determine the specific status of the item, e.g. on loan, on order, missing. You may be able to place a request for the item see: How do I make a request for an item? for more information. 28 14
Top 10 FAQs Question Can I set alerts for new items in which I might be interested? Answer Once logged in, perform a search for items in which you are interested. In the bottom left corner of the results, click on the Save query option and choose Save & alert. Enter a name for your query along with your email address. Alerts will be sent to you every seven days if any new items for your query are added to the Library.
