TOUR ITINERARY Day 1 Welcome to New York City! Travel to New York City, which British explorer Henry Hudson discovered in 1609 while searching for a passage to China. Today, the Big Apple is the largest metropolis in the United States. Upon arrival, meet your EF Explore America Tour Director, who will accompany you throughout your stay. Walking Tour of Midtown Stroll down glamorous Fifth Avenue in the heart of midtown Manhattan. Pass Rockefeller Center, home to NBC Studios and Radio City Music Hall, an Art Deco triumph, marvel at the grandeur of St. Patrick s Cathedral, with its 26-foot-wide rose window and soaring Gothic spires, continue past the extravagant Trump Tower and the famous F.A.O. Schwarz toy store, and finish at the entrance to Central Park, New York s 840-acre pastoral retreat. Empire State Building and Observatory This evening, view the city from the Empire State Building s observation deck. Once the world s tallest building, the Empire State Building remains one of Manhattan s most elegant symbols. Built in just over a year during the depths of the Depression, this limestone beauty s iconic status was sealed in 1933, when the building starred in King Kong. Since the 1976 bicentennial celebration, the building s top stories have glowed at night with seasonal colors. Hotel in New Jersey Arrive and check into your hotel. Day 2 Guided Sightseeing of New York City A licensed guide leads your sightseeing tour of New York City. You ll explore the mosaic of Manhattan neighborhoods that make the city so unique. Drive through Greenwich Village, New York s eclectic province of bohemians, immigrants and students, and pass the cast-iron architecture of impossibly trendy SoHo (from SOuth of HOuston Street ). And it just might feel as if you ve left the States and crossed an ocean as you take in the vibrant life of Chinatown and the personality of Little Italy. Finish your tour at the World Trade Center site, home to the 9/11 Memorial. 9/11 Memorial Subject to availability. Metropolitan Museum of Art With more than 3 million objects in its collection, the Metropolitan Museum of Art is home to one of the most extensive art collections in the world. The galleries include works from the Paleolithic era to the contemporary avantgarde. Among the museum s most popular exhibits are Egyptian artifacts, Oriental sculpture, ancient glasswork, African art, early European musical instruments and American decorative art.

Photo Stop in Times Square Dinner in Midtown Broadway Show Enjoy your Broadway show, sure to be an unforgettable theater experience! Day 3 Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island Ferry to Liberty Island to marvel at the Statue of Liberty. A gift from France in honor of the French-U.S. alliance, the statue s iron skeleton was designed by Alexandre Gustave Eiffel (of Eiffel Tower fame), sculpted by F. A. Bartholdi and modeled on the Colossus of Rhodes. Liberty Enlightening the World, the statue s full title, was unveiled to much fanfare in 1888. Continue on to Ellis Island, which welcomed millions of immigrants to the New World around the turn of the century. Ellis Island is now the site of a museum chronicling the history of immigration. Brooklyn Bridge Walking Tour Once the longest steel suspension bridge in the world, the Brooklyn Bridge was begun by John A. Roebling and finished by his son Washington. It takes about 40 minutes to traverse this massive architectural achievement using the boardwalk shared by pedestrians, in-line skaters and cyclists. The astounding views make the trek worthwhile; you can see Midtown to the north, the port to the south and Governor s Island and Lady Liberty out in the harbor. Day 4 Walking Tour of Central Park Join your tour director for a romp through New York s backyard playground. An 843-acre rectangular oasis in the heart of the Manhattan jungle, Central Park has something for everyone. Admire the 58 hand-carved horses parading around the Friedsam Memorial Carousel, brought to the park from Coney Island. Later, head over to the boathouse and Tavern on the Green. Continue through Bethesda Terrace, one of Central Park's best places for people watching, and find the statue of Alice in Wonderland at the northern end of the Conservatory Water. Central Park Zoo Just a few yards from 5th Ave. you ll find over 130 different species ranging from giant Polar Bears to the open-air tropical aviary. NBC Studios Tour Go behind the scenes at NBC Studios and learn the history behind one of television s most prestigious networks. Some of the notable studios included on the tour are the Today show s studio 1A and Saturday Night Live s studio 8H. Tour of Radio City Music Hall Go behind the scenes at America s greatest showplace. A spectacular Art Deco theater built in 1932, Radio City s main attraction is the annual Christmas Spectacular, starring the world-famous Rockettes. This world-class theater also plays host to countless other concerts, family attractions, network TV specials, film premieres and award shows throughout the year. Admire the curving balconies, 60-foot-high gold-leaf ceilings, 30-foot chandeliers and decorative carpeting. Learn about the Great Stage, view Art Deco designs, see the mighty Wurlitzer Organ, experience the private apartment of the Music Hall s founder, Roxy Rothafel, and visit the active rehearsal halls. Top it all off by meeting one of the Rockettes. Yankee Baseball Game Enjoy a night of baseball at a Yankee's game. Day 5 Museum of the Moving Image Immerse yourself in what it takes to make films, television shows and digital entertainment. More than 1,400 artifacts help tell the story from start to finish, from the creative to the technical, from the historic to the cutting-edge. See selections from groundbreaking works and become part of motion picture magic through interactive exhibits. Groups will also have the opportunity to participate in a special workshop. Students may create a video game or a stop-motion animation short, make their own political campaign ad or learn about motion by using a 19thcentury optical toy. Student Workshop at Museum of the Moving Image Experience one of the hands-on workshops, which have been designed to supplement the guided tours of the Museum's exhibitions and support learning standards across a variety of curricular areas. Visit the Museum of Modern Art Visit New York s world-class Museum of Modern Art. The MoMA opened in 1929 to great controversy over its then shockingly modern collection. Today, it is the premier contemporary art museum in the world, and houses more than 100,000 works of art-paintings, sculptures, drawings, prints, photographs and architectural models-dating from 1880 to the present. MoMA s holdings include masterpieces like van Gogh s Starry Night and Picasso s Les Desmoiselles de Avignon, as well as works by Chagall, Kandinsky and Matisse. The museum also boasts a beautifully landscaped outdoor sculpture garden featuring work by Henry Moore and Rodin. When the MoMA is closed, visit the Guggenheim Museum. Day 6

Museum of Natural History Marvel at an array of cultural treasures, artifacts and exhibits inside this renowned four-story museum spanning several city blocks. Explore the extensive permanent halls as well as new, temporary exhibits featuring wonders of history, zoology, geology and astronomy. Gaze at massive Tyrannosaurus Rex and Stegosaurus skeletons in the Fossil Halls, the world s largest collection of vertebrate fossils. Study human evolution in the popular Hall of Human Origins, which includes full-sized casts of extraordinary fossils such as the 4-millionyear- old Lucy skeleton. Discover the complexity of earth s other creatures at exhibits on mammals and marine life, get up close to meteorites and moon rocks and be dazzled by the 563-carat Star of India, the world s largest star sapphire. Depart for Home! Itinerary subject to change:
