Tie Breakers There will n lnger be tie-breakers fr teachers t reslve in Preliminary r Semi-Final Runds. If there is a tie fr the tp three spts in each rm all tied scres will mve n t the next rund. If there are n ties at the Finalists Cncert (and 4 r mre students prceeded t the Finals) then awards will be given fr 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place, and Hnrable Mentin certificates. By creating vides with yur students, yu are giving them the pprtunity t ptentially prgress in tw cmpetitins, thereby gaining mre experience auditining, and giving them the pprtunity t cmpete twice fr cash prizes. Students can submit vides t BOTH the Bstn Chapter Student Auditins and the NE Regin Natinal Student Auditins. NATS-Bstn will have a huse pianist available fr use n Sunday, March 19th fr the Cllege and Recreatinal Semi-Final & Final runds. On Saturday, March 18th, Junir and High Schl Divisins MUST prvide their wn accmpanists fr the Preliminary and Semi-Final runds. Junir & High Schl students MAY use the huse pianists fr the Finals n Sunday, March 19th if they prgress and chse t. All students MAY use yur wn accmpanist if they chse. Pianists must play frm riginal/legal cpies f all music. Pianists MAY NOT use phtcpies t play frm even if riginal dcuments are at the Auditins. Due t the tight schedule n the day f auditins, teachers may nt receive cmment sheets fr their students n the day f the event. Cmment sheets will be mailed t spnsring teachers within a mnth f the Auditins. STUDENT INFORMATION Singers wh have been a 1 st Place winner in a categry must advance t the next divisin in subsequent years; fr example, a winner in Divisins 1(B) will nw enter Divisin 2. Prir winners in the Recreatinal Divisin must enter Divisin 3 in subsequent years in rder t participate. Singers must present prf f age prir t Auditin weekend - either in the nline registratin system r by email t vicepresidentnatsbstn@gmail.cm. Singers wh cmpeted in the fall f 2015 are nt required t submit prf f age in 2017. Financial arrangements are made between Singers and their Pianists. Singers shuld expect t pay their pianists in advance f Auditins, but n later than the day f the perfrmance. Singers shuld bring fur cpies f the Adjudicatin Frm t the Preliminary Auditin. Financial arrangements will be made between Singers and/r Teachers and Pianists. NATS- Bstn will assume n respnsibility fr unmet financial bligatins made with either Singers r their Teachers. CAPACITY & WAITLIST INFORMATION Only the first 250 Student Auditin applicatins received will be accepted. Singers submitting cmplete applicatins by the deadline, but after the limit has been reached will be placed n the Waitlist and will receive ntice by email if an auditin slt is available. These will be assigned n a first cme, first served basis. Waitlisted singers will receive a refund f the applicatin fee if they are nt scheduled fr an auditin. AWARD INFORMATION All awards are granted at the discretin f the judges. There must be at least 15 entrants in a divisin in rder t ffer 1 st, 2 nd, and 3 rd awards. There must be at least 8 entrants in a divisin in rder t ffer 1 st and 2 nd awards. There must be at least 5 entrants in a divisin in rder t ffer a 1 st place award. Written critiques by the judges may be handed ut t participants n the day f cmpetitin, but culd als be mailed t each singer s spnsring teacher fr distributin.
