Issue 1, 29 th September 2014 RLC2IC component magnetic encoder with magnetic rings MR050C and MR047B RLC is a PCB level encoder for rotary measurements. With its compact design it is suitable for integration into embedded motion control systems where limited space for encoder is available. The information carrier is a magnetic ring (MR) with a pole length of 2 mm. State-of-the-art position sensing assures highly repeatable position measurement under wide installation tolerances and temperature range. Integrated interpolator allows interpolation up to 13 bits of measuring steps per pole length. dvanced production methods assure minimisation of interpolation error (SDE) to less than 0.2 % of pole length. Position information is output in incremental quadrature format with periodic index impulses. Index periods correspond to pole length of magnetisation. Time between two neighbouring edges of incremental output signals is definible with ordering code and allows optimal adaptation of the measuring system to sub-sequent electronics. Chosen edge separation and resolution provides maximum measuring velocities. t 1 μm resolution and 0.12 μs edge separation this is more than 4 m/s. EM compatibility of RLC should be assured with enclosure system and external components.
