PLAYING THROUGHOUT THE WEEKEND Film - The Tribe (18) (Plemya) Dir. Miroslav Slaboshpitsky GB NL 2014 130 mins Ukranian Sign Language Grigoriy Fesenko, Yana Novikova, Rosa Babiy The Tribe is a bold feature which confidently uses Ukrainian sign language to convey its story of extreme teenage behaviour in a specialised boarding school for deaf students. Deaf mute Sergey is the new kid in class, and in this daunting new environment, he discovers the brutal hierarchy of the Tribe : the school s shadowy criminal network. Please note, there are no subtitles for this film which is intentional by the filmmakers. It is intended that the audience absorb the drama by viewing the action and interpreting the Ukranian Sign Language. Other caption subtitled screenings will be listed on the HOME website on Tuesday 19 May. POST HOMEWARMING WEEKEND Theatre Performance - The Funfair Theatre 1 WED 3 JUNE, 19:30 - Captioned performance THU 4 JUNE, 19:30 - BSL Interpreted performance With a live band, a big dipper and a freakshow, an entire world of escape and glory The Funfair is coming to town. Simon Stephens (The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, Punk Rock) exciting new adaptation of the 20th century classic Kasimir and Karoline is a dark, political and very funny play that sets two young lovers in the throes of a break up against the hypnotic whirl and bright lights of a funfair. Directed by Walter Meierjohann, with an evocative set design and live music, our first theatre production The Funfair takes us on a ride through the loops, dips and highs of one night at a fairground, exploring a crisis of capitalism set to the soundtrack of a rock and roll love song. FREE/Booking in advance recommended

SAT 20 JUNE Gallery Tour - The Heart is Deceitful Above All Things BSL interpreted Gallery 14:00-15:00 Join curator and HOME s Director of Visual Art, Sarah Perks, for a personal tour of our launch exhibition addressing love, or more specifically, heartbreak, from the bittersweet emotions of your first teenage crush to what it feels like to be in a relationship during turbulent, uncertain times.
