A Special Day at the Dream Factory EXHIBITIONS AND SETS The exhibitions Why Cinecittà, Shooting in Cinecittà and Backstage Cinecittà s Educational Route and the permanent sets of Ancient Rome, Jerusalem and Florence in 1400 can be toured daily (except on Tuesdays). Timetable: From 9:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. (ticket office closes at 5:30 p.m.) The exhibitions may also be accessed without prior booking or a guide. Tours of the permanent sets do not require advance booking but accompaniment by one of the Studios guides is required. The little participants will also personally craft an object that will give them the opportunity to transform the corners of Cinecittà into fantastic places. From 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Special Tour The Chamber of Wonders: Exploring the Prop Room of Ancient Rome Cinecitta s prop room unveils the job of a set decorator and reveals a variety of statues, jewels and objects created according to the fashion of different ages i.e. Ancient Rome and Ancient Egypt to decorate the sets of a number of different movies and TV series including Rome, The Young Messiah, The Borgias and Ben-Hur. TUESDAY APRIL 25 At 11:30 a.m. Special Family Tour - Cinecittà in the Family by the Venusia Statue A route designed for kids and parents that leads through the sets and is centered around the huge and mysterious Venusia, the statue created for Fellini s Casanova that becomes the protagonist of a fantastic tale, woven between reality and fiction. Information, fun facts and games will reveal the secrets of the Studios, the history of Cinecittà and its inhabitants. A number of engaging activities will let children create an item that they will keep as a souvenir.
At 3:30 p.m. Interactive Reading Session Interactive reading leads children and adults through the dream-like atmosphere of Federico Fellini with the words and drawings of Eva Montanari s illustrated book, Federico. Participants will enjoy the creation of an illustrated story somewhere between reality and fiction! FRIDAY APRIL 28 11:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m. Exhibition Area Cinecittà 80 - Collectible Postcards On the occasion of the Studios 80th anniversary, Cinecittà Shows Off, in collaboration with Cinecittà Studios, Istituto Luce and Poste Italiane, will present a special event dedicated to exhibition visitors who are also stamp collecting enthusiasts. The first 1,000 visitors to purchase an exhibition tickets will receive a complimentary collectible postcard created by Poste Italiane showing an archive image of the places and faces that contributed to the fame of the Dream Factory. The postcards printed in limited edition will also feature a special canceled stamp commemorating the Studios 80th anniversary. The cancellation stamp will later be archived at the Museum of the Ministry of Economic Development. SATURDAY APRIL 29 10:00 a.m. 6:00 p.m. Exhibition Area Cinebimbicittà - A Postcard for Cinecittà This workshop aims at arousing the interest of children and adults in the world of stamp collecting and the movies: images of places, faces, costumes and set designs are the ingredients that create a customized postcard dedicated to the Dream Factory, and also includes a special canceled stamp in honor of the Studios 80th anniversary. Over the course of the day, the first 1,000 visitors who purchase an exhibition ticket will receive as a gift a collectible postcard. The limited amount of printed postcards will include a special canceled stamp to commemorate the occasion. SUNDAY APRIL 30 Cinebimbicittà Exploring a Set Staging This workshop is useful to discover all about cinema fiction and will let its visitors try their hand at the creation of a set design. The materials involved in creating fiction, the different environs of films, and the many film genres will be the starting point for creating miniature set designs.
At 11:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Special Tour The Realm of Creativity: Exploring a Soundstage This tour leads through one of the twenty-two soundstages at Cinecittà, a place of creativity and scenic construction: Images, anecdotes and fun facts will be unveiled in this behind the scenes look at a film production. MONDAY MAY 1 At 11:30 a.m. Special Family Tour - Cinecittà in the Family: Interactive Set Tour for Parents and Children This route explores Fellini s Venusia as well as the sets of Rome and The Temple of Jerusalem: Information, anecdotes and workshops are the ingredients of an amusing interactive tour for kids and adults. I cinque Lionni Illustrations by Giulio Gianini for Leo Lionni s stories This workshop is designed to discover the stories and characters of Guizzino, Federico, È mio, Cornelio, and Un pesce è un pesce books by the gifted author Leo Lionni and illustrated by Giulio Gianini. Gianini s poetic artistry is reflected in Lionni s animal stories, which have enchanted kids and adults. After the screening of the five animated cartoons in Sala Fellini which has been opened to the public specifically on this occasion children will create a personal item inspired by I cinque Lionni, discovering the secrets of animation.

Visitors will learn about the characters and the stories that contributed to his fame. From 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. A tutto scambio! (Everybody Switch!) Cinecittà s Play Garden hosts a unique activity where kids can exchange toys they no longer use for others, swap dolls and stuffed animals with new games, books, DVDs and CDs. All children are welcome to share the fun of the toy exchange. This activity takes place in the green space of Cinecittà Shows Off.
