cornerstone production W;t 6 5 Directed by Kari Hatfield by Margaret Edson I was dismayed to discover that the play would contain elements of... humor. So says Dr. Vivian Bearing as she introduces her story to us. Wit is a brilliantlycrafted and unflinching look at the last chapter of Ms. Bearing s life. Armed with a sharp intellect, this professor of 17th century poetry wrestles with the ultimate question of what it means to be alive. acu.edu/theatre 325-674-ARTS (2787) Fulks Theatre November 13-18, 2017 Monday - Saturday at 7:30 p.m. *Talkback following each performance Recommended for ages 10 and older
Directed by Adam Hester by Adrian Hall Adapted from the Novel by Robert Penn Warren With Original Music by Randy Newman Inspired by the life of Louisiana Governor Huey P. Long, the Pulitzer Prizewinning novel, All The King s Men, portrays the dramatic political ascent of Willie Stark, a driven, self-proclaimed savior of the working man in the 1930s American South. Filled with unsettling insights underlined by the inspired music of Randy Newman, Stark s story of charismatic idealism challenged by growing corruption and lust for power remains all too relevant in today s political culture, and begs the question, How far have we come? studio premiere Sight Unseen by Donald Margulies 8 7 In this OBIE award-winning play, Jonathan Waxman is the art scene s new visionary, with a waiting list to buy paintings he has yet to paint. In London for his first European show, Waxman is under the gun. He could be spurned, causing the American art world to re-evaluate his work, or he could be further lionized, causing more demand and greater expectations. Either way, something is missing. On impulse, he escapes to the country to search for the woman who was his first love and early inspiration and reconnect with those feelings that first made him an artist. acu.edu/theatre 325-674- Culp Theatre March 1-3, 2018 Thursday-Saturday at 7:30 p.m. *Talkback following each performance Recommended for ages 13 and older
