MAETERLINCK THE BLUE BIRD The Blue Bird L Uccellino Azzurro L Oiseau Bleu fairy tale in five act and twelve frame by Maurice Maeterlinck music Pink Floyd directed and adapted by Mattia Sebastian costumes Toshimi Mitzuda face painting Elena Tagliapietra light designer Makoto Niuwa

MAETERLINCK THE BLUE BIRD The fairy tale L 'Oiseau Bleu - The Blue Bird is considered the masterpiece of the writer, Nobel in 1911, Maurice Maeterlinck. Was performed for the first time at the Moscow Art Theater in 1908 by Stanislavsky and three years later in Paris at the Theatre Rejane, in 1911 and in Italy for the first time by Luca Ronconi in 1979. The success was immediate and resounding. Maeterlinck takes the spotlight of fame with his first play La Princesse Maleine (1889), thanks to the writer Octave Mirabeau that caught the attention of audiences and critics writing in the "Figaro" an enthusiastic article, consecrating and defining the young writer le nouveau Shakespeare Belge. Blue Bird is the journey of two children in search of happiness of which the Blue Bird is a symbol widely accepted in cultures around the world. The adventure turns along the way on a journey of knowledge, where children will discover the mysteries of Death, the Night of the Future, but especially how to find happiness by learning to know yourself what is around them.

MAETERLINCK THE BLUE BIRD Tyltyl and Mytyl, two brothers children of a poor woodcutter, dreaming that the Fairy Beriluna going to find them in the aspect of the old deformed neighbor, Mrs. Berlingot. The fairy tells them that his granddaughter is seriously ill and that the only thing that can heal is the Blue Bird. In the English vocabulary "to till" means tilling and "to tilt" means fighting but also play and overthrow, by the merger of these two verbs could derive Tyltyl Maeterlinck, the hero who, new Ulysses, performs in a Night her 'initiatory journey' to reach a new vision of life and a rebirth. Maeterlinck creates a fairytale symbolist winning and unique that expresses the mystery of life and the search continues that moves the human spirit.

MAETERLINCK THE BLUE BIRD THE PROJECT AND THE PARTICIPATION OF THE YOUNG STUDENTS The show will be produced in 2016 in Japan by SCOT - Suzuki Company of Toga, directed by Tadashi Suzuki at Toga Arts Park, one of the most famous stage in the country that has seen directors like Wilson, Terzopoulos, Suzuki, Kantor, Kanze present their creations. The cast is formed with participants from China, Japan, Lithuania, Australia and Hungary. In line with the philosophy of the Master Tadashi Suzuki that promotes the interaction of different cultures and languages, the actors will act in their native language. On stage there will be the following languages: Chinese, Mandarin and Cantonese, Lithuanian, Hungarian, English, Japanese and Italian as voiceover. The children of the middle and high schools will follow in the first phase only the rehearsal and they will be able to deal with other cultures; to relate to the productive phase of theater, its mechanisms, the timing and the creative process. In the second phase, in 2017, these actors will be replaced by the some of the young students who will try to go on stage. The project uses theater as a form of growth and cultural exchange. A moment of confrontation important for a country like Japan where young people are likely to stay away or just to share the process of integration and understanding between the different cultures that is transforming the world today.

The staging makes use of the music of Pink Floyd, the art of shadows and colors fluoresce under black light. Pink Floyd with their famous and particular atmosphere seemed to us the best conjurers of the dream of the two protagonists of the tale: visions, hallucinations, apparitions, transformations that we wanted to make it more powerful by using the technique of the shadows, like Chinese and Thai. To transform the narrow room, where takes place the night adventure conceived by Maeterlinck in an evanescent and impalpable we thought the use of shapes in the shadows that represent some of the characters and the various landscapes of the fairy tale. They appear through the back projection on the walls forming the small room covered with black tulle, like a visual distortion, a stretch of reality, for the creation of a fantasy world. Some elements of the scene and the hands of the actors will be painted with the blue fluorescent used in body painting. When you turn the light black or Wood appear as elements fable. For example hands painted blue moving quickly evoke the wings of birds that seem to spectators as suspended in the night sky, and realize that happiness is to be found in ourselves. PROPOSAL production year 2016-2017 Existing elements : direction idea stage Reworkings of costumes Light design To create: Cast seven to eight young singers / actors Training and related physical education evidence Eventual composition of new music by a musician or music group close to the tastes of the young audience.
