Fact Sheet The United Internet Media In-Page Expandable ads effectively combine video with the interactive features of the internet and offer a whole range of multimedia communication possibilities. The formats expand to their full size on mouse-over and offer ample space for your video campaign. In the case of technical queries: E-Mail: ads@united-internet-media.de www.united-internet-media.de 2

02. Data Sheet Advertising Format Dimensions (Pixel) Data Size (kb) *** Video length (Sek.) Data format Feature Basic / Video-Size (max.)* Expandable Billboard */** 970 x 250 970 x 545 80 30 HTML5 auto-start Video expanding bei mouseover Expandable Halfpage ** 300 x 600 / 800 x 600 40 30 HTML5 auto-start Video expanding bei mouseover Expandable Wallpaper ** 728 x 90 & 160 x 600 / 800 x 600 80 30 HTML5 auto-start Video expanding bei mouseover Video Screen Ad ** Max. 900 x 940 80 30 HTML5 auto-start Video expanding bei mouseover * Based on an aspect ratio of 16:9 when delivered by United Internet Media. 4:3 as well as customised formats on request. For the video it must be delivered an end screen picture as gif- or jpeg-data at the size of the dimension of the video. The additional file size of the end screen picture may not exceed 40 kb. **With expanding ads a full area presentation of the video without letterbox (black bars above and below) is only possible with delivery in the format 4:3. *** The initial file size meets with the restrictions of the underlying representative advertising medium. Through Polite Download it can be reloaded till 10 MB. (see Point 10.7.) 03. Delivery Details (Client to UIM) 03.1. Adverts must be delivered at least 5 working days before the start of the campaign. United Internet Media can take no responsibility for the punctual launch of a campaign and its faultless integration if adverts are not delivered punctually. 03.2. A maximum of three motifs can be used. UIM must be informed about the number of motifs in advance. 03.3. The more motifs provided the more effort is required by Quality Control. This means that production time prior to delivery will be prolonged by 2 days. 03.4. If 3rd parties are involved then they must provide all individual motifs at the time of integration. 03.5. Fallback graphics (gif or jpg) should be provided in case of technical difficulties, which prevent the flash advert from being shown in a browser. If fallbacks are not provided UIM reserves the right to take a screenshot of the flash advert and to use this as the fallback. 03.6. Up to 5 different click tags can be integrated into an advert. To be able to do this United Internet Media needs exact instructions allocating each click tag to its appropriate URL. 03.7. Advert labelling: The advertising media must be clearly recognizable as an advert and may only imitate copy or change page content after consent from United Internet Media. If necessary it must be labelled with for example the words Advert or Display. www.united-internet-media.de 3

04. Delivery Details (UIM to User) 04.1. Adverts will partly be played in IFrames on United Internet Media marketed portals. 04.2. A change of advert or motive during the campaign may only be implemented with tested adverts and after prior agreement from UIM. 04.3. United Internet Media reserves the right to refuse adverts that are faulty (e.g. malfunctioning local connect) or that have reaction provoking design (user irritation through colouring and motive) or that do not adhere with the general conditions for the delivery of adverts http://mediaplace.united-internet-media.de/de/servicecenter/spezifikationen/technologien/technologien.html. 04.4. Adverts should be tested in advance to make sure that they comply with regulations and provisions concerning the protection of minors. In accordance with the relevant age restriction rules United Internet Media reserves the right to limit the access/broadcasting time of the advert or to refuse the motive entirely. 04.5. United Internet Media reserves the right to set and apply a Frequency Capping for the delivery of advertising format. 05. Adserving 05.1. If there are no other agreements, the delivery of the ad format will take place via the United Internet Media ad server. 05.2. External counting pixels can be integrated. These must be independent from the relevant click commands. 05.3. Measuring view time/visibility or the application of other enhanced tracking procedures with script employment must first be communicated and coordinated with UIM. UIM reserves the right to refuse this type of tracking. 05.4. 3rd Party ad serving is possible. Before each campaign it will be checked by United Internet Media. 05.5. For the hosting of video files 3rd Party ad serving of Flash elements via the United Internet Media ad server is not possible. 06. Advertising Media Features 06.1. At the starting situation the advertising format may not be folded out and may not automatically start to expand (without user action) (no Autoexpand). The only exception is the banderrole. 06.2. The Pop-Effect is only allowed, if the user s mouse cursor is moving in the permanently visible area of the advertising format. (Mouseover). 06.3. The folded out area must close automatically, if the mouse cursor is moving away from the advertising format (Mouseout). 06.4. By delivery via the United Internet Media ad server the function call to close the layer is: fscommand( adlayerhider ) and to open: fscommand( adlayeropener ). 06.5. Expanding-Formats: For the state expanded and not expanded separated background graphics for inside the ad must be delivered. Furthermore, ad size and video size must be specified for both advertising states. 06.6. The advertising format consists of the connected formats Superbanner, Skyscraper and Medium Rectange. 06.7. If the ad includes page overlapping transparent areas which make page content visible then it ought to be possible to clickthrough these areas. If this is not the case, then the size of these areas and the function of the advert may well irritate the user. In such an instance United Internet Media reserves the right to request a compulsory semi-transparent background for the ad or in its absence to reject the ad entirely. Furthermore UIM reserves the right to exclude certain browsers from delivery. www.united-internet-media.de 4

07. Audio 07.1. Sound may not automatically start in adverts, except by delivery at the logout page. However this can be controlled by user interaction. Sound is set to Off in the initial state. The following applies for user interaction: Mouse click on button Sound On, Tone On or on the loudspeaker symbol. If delivered on our German portals: Not Mouse Over! If delivered on our Austrian and/or Swiss portals: Moving the mouse cursor in the space of the advert, in which the advert is being played (Mouse Over). In this case the sound must stop if the mouse cursor leaves this space (Mouse Out). 07.2. Tone in adverts must be regulated via well visible controls that can be turned on and off and regulated (sound) by the user. 07.3. Sounds may not be integrated in the loop. 07.4. The maximum sound regulation in adverts must be appropriate and may not exceed -9dBFS. 07.5. Audio codec requirements for different video formats: Videocodec Audiocodec Container Bitrate H264 AAC oder PCM Little Endian.mov /.mp4 > 20Mbit/s MPEG2 MPEG Audio.mpg 8-10 Mbit/s Animation, Apple Quick Time RLE.mov > 20Mbit/s Apple ProRes Little Endian.mov >120Mbit/s 24bits RGB (RV24) PCM Little Endian.avi > 100Mbit/s WMV WMA.wmv > 8Mbit/s www.united-internet-media.de 5

08. Video (Physical Delivery) 08.1. Digital raw material should be delivered in the best possible format. For optimum picture quality the raw data should be delivered in a resolution of 720 x576 pixels up to 1920 x1080 pixels with frame rates of 25, 30, 50 or 60 fps. The following formats are accepted: AVI, DV, MPEG2, WMV and MOV. The files should not be DRM protected. United Internet Media undertakes the encoding. 08.2. We recommend bandwidth detection by the creation of a video player and a broadband optimized delivery of the video in the advert (900kB/s and 1500 kb/s) to also present the video to users with a low bandwidth as fast as possible. 08.4. Please observe that the video material must be delivered without pre- or post-idling (e.g. technical credits, black, white or other empty frames). For optimum advertising effect the advert should start and end with picture and tone. 08.5. The length of the video must be at least 5 seconds and unless otherwise specified may not exceed 30 seconds. 08.6. Looping of the advert: If delivered on our German portals: Automatic looping of the advert is not possible. If delivered on our Austrian and/or Swiss portals: Automatic looping of the advert is possible. The advert can be played for a maximum of three times. 08.7. It must be possible to close/stop the video at any time. 08.8. The control button Tone on/off must be well visible. Additionally we recommend the control buttons Stop, Pause/Play. 09. Video (Redirect Delivery) 09.1. The video must be https enabled. 09.2. For integration of video in the advert a SWF with own player technology must be delivered. 09.3. It must be possible to close/stop the video-streaming at any time. www.united-internet-media.de 6

10. Technical Requirements 10.1. Https is required for some special adverstising formats of United Internet Media marketed portals (see point 2. Data Sheet SSL- compatible). This also concerns 3rd Party tags (Counting Pixels Video). 10.2. Adverts may not exceed a processor load of 50% on standard PCs or netbooks Example specification standard PC: Intel Pentium IV,2,2 GHz, 1GB RAM, Example specification netbook: Intel Atom N270, 1,6 GHz, 1GB RAM. Reasons for a high CPU burden can amongst others include frame rates that are too high, quick colour change or animation. 10.3. If the advert contains transparent areas which overlay the page content while it is still visible, these areas must be clickable. If this is not guaranteed, there can t be any user irritations because of the size and the function of the advert. United Internet Media reserves the right to demand the delivery of a semi-transparend background for the advert or to deny the advert. UIM also reserves the right to exclude certain browsers from the delivery. 10.4. Buttons must be defined for all clickable areas. The uniform standard for the transfer of redirects for marketer-sided click counting is the click tag method. 10.5. Action Script 2: on (release) { geturl(_root.clicktag, _root.clicktarget); } 10.6. Action Script 3: import flash.external.externalinterface; var clickurl:string = new String(root.loaderInfo.parameters.clicktag); var clicktarget:string = new String(root.loaderInfo.parameters.clicktarget); var clickurlrequest:urlrequest = new URLRequest(clickUrl); function clickhandler(event:mouseevent):void { // Prüfen ob externe Schnittstelle vorhanden, wenn nicht navigatetourl if (ExternalInterface.available) { // Browser Check var isie:boolean = ExternalInterface.call("function () { return /Trident/.test(navigator.userAgent) }"); // Browser = IE? if (isie) { ExternalInterface.call("window.open", clickurl, clicktarget); } else { navigatetourl(clickurlrequest, clicktarget); } } else { navigatetourl(clickurlrequest, clicktarget); } }; // ClickHandler der Klickfläche clickbutton.addeventlistener(mouseevent.mouse_up, clickhandler); www.united-internet-media.de 7

10.7. Polite Download: Polite Download is a technology which first loads a smaller initial file (swf. weight according to OVK specifications) and then downloads a larger file (up to 10 MB) once the site has been fully loaded (e.g. swf, video, graphics). Alternatively this reloading process can be started 5-10 seconds after the initial loading or by user initiation (click on button, Mouse Over). A distinction should be made between narrow and broadband users (in particular for videos) when reloading. Basically the reloading should not start after the initial loading, but after the above mentioned processes. Delivery via a 3rd party is possible, if the above-mentioned processes are assured as well. 11. United Internet Media General Requirements The General Terms and Conditions still apply http://www.united-internet-media.de/de/agb/ and the general guidelines for advertising media http://www.united-internet-media.de/de/downloadcenter/allgemeine-richtlinien/. A breach of the above mentioned points as well against the applicable law will automatically lead to an advert being denied. www.united-internet-media.de 8
