3. Installation Switch off ignition and disconnect the vehicle s battery! If according to factory rules disconnecting the battery has to be avoided, it is usually sufficient to put the vehicle in sleep-mode. In case the sleep-mode does not show success, disconnect the battery with a resistor lead. Place of installation is behind the Comand head-unit. 3.1. 3.2. Quadlock connector Remove the Comand from the dash-board. 1 2 3 Disconnect female Quadlock connector from the back of the Comand. Remove MOST -insert from the factory harness female Quadlock connector. Plug MOST -insert into male MOST -connector shell of harness DT2C-MBN45. 4 Connect male Quadlock connector of harness DT2C-MBN45 to female Quadlock connector of vehicle harness. 5 Plug male MOST -connector into female MOST -socket of DT2C-MBN45. 6 Connect female Quadlock connector of DT2C-MBN45 to male Quadlock connector of the Comand. 7 Connect both female Fakra connectors of harness DT2C-MBN45 to the brown Fakra connectors on the rear of the Comand. The sequence doesn t matter. Note: Vehicles without MOST -components, which means without factory CDC, without factory phone or other MOST -components have no optical leads at the Comand. In this case remove female MOST -socket of DT2C-MBN45 and the single optical lead between the male and female Quadlock of the DT2C-MBN45. Plug the now left over single optical lead on the male Quadlock side into the now empty slot of the male MOST -connector. Page9

3.3. Antennas and optional IR-remote control set 1 2 Mount antennas ANT-12 and connect them to the female f-plug connectors on front of tuner-box DT2C-M713. We strongly recommend to first test the reception quality of the chosen mounting position of the antennas before final installation! See Appendix C Antenna positioning for additional information. The C3-IRSET consists of the external C3C-SENSOR IR-sensor and the C3C-RC IR-remote control and can be used to control the dvblogic s internal DVB-T tuner functions additionally to the control through the navigations buttons. Connect the C3C-SENSOR to the female black/red/blue 3pin AMP connector of harness DT2C-MBN45 and locate the sensor in an accessible place. Note: To use the teletext function of the dvblogic s internal DVB-T tuner, the C3-IRSET is necessary to enter the page numbers. Page10

3.4. USB-AV-Player 1 Connect the USB extension USBC-EXT to the USB-port on the rear of the tuner-box DT2C-M713. 2 Connect USB-media (up to 2TB, FAT32 and NTFS) to the USB-port of the USBextension cable USBC-EXT. 3.5. Connecting peripheral devices It is possible to connect rear-seat-entertainment and a Conex converter to the dvblogic Tuner. Before final installation of the peripheral devices, we recommend to test-run the dvblogic functions to detect incompatibility of vehicle, navigation, factory accessories or peripheral devices as soon as possible. Page11

3.5.1. After-market rear-seat-entertainment 1 2 Using RCA-cables, connect the rear-seat-entertainment to the female RCA-connector of harness CAB-AV-6P. Note: As the output is a full output, not shared with the video signal for the navigation system, splitting the video with an RCA Y-cable might give a good enough picture for two rear-seat-entertainment monitors. If not, or if connecting more than two monitors, use a video splitter. The pink ACC-output wire (+12V max 1A) of harness DT2C-MBN45 can be connected to the ACC-input wires of the rear-seat entertainment to switch it on. It carries +12V when the navigation computer is running. Page12

3.5.2. Conax converter 1 Connect the micro-usb-port of the optionally available Conax converter (e.g. DVBTC- CONAX) to the micro-usb-port on the rear of tuner-box DT2C-M713. 3.6. Coding To enable the dvblogic functions on the Comand (TV-option), they need to be coded once on the Comand by pressing button combinations. 3.6.1. TV-option In order to use the dvblogic it is necessary to code the Comand s TV-option. When the Comand has booted, press the UP and the + key of the steering wheel for 4 seconds (afterwards Diagnosis will be displayed). After the Comand has automatically rebooted, the option TV is available in the Video menu. 3.6.2. Reversing the coding of TV-option The above described coding of TV-option can be reversed by pressing the key used for coding UP and the - key at the same time for 4 seconds. Page13

4. Operation 4.1. Activation of the video-in-motion function On vehicles with Comand APS NTG4-212 and on the most vehicles with Comand Online NTG4.5 the video-in-motion function is activated permanently without disturbing the navigation performance. Exception: Comand Online NTG4.5 with TV-free selective (Dip1 to OFF) On some vehicles with Comand APS NTG4.5 (see chapter Exception: Vehicles with Comand Online NTG4.5 ) select the navigation mode on the instrument and press the hang-up -button on the steering-wheel for more than 3 seconds to activate/deactivate the video-in-motion function. When the ignition is off, the video-in-motion interface will be automatically disabled. Note: As long as the video-in-motion function is activated, the navigation of the Comand will NOT be working! 4.2. Selecting the dvblogic as current AV-source Enter menu VIDEO and then select TV to select the dvblogic as current AV-source. Press 3 seconds Page14

4.3. Control of the internal DVB-T tuner The internal DVB-T tuner can be controlled by the Controller. The functions of the controller are corresponding with the OEM control (e.g. Radio). 4.3.1.
