980 HDMI 2.0 module "HDR Lab" Utility HDR Lab Test Patterns/Reference Images: The HDR Lab utility is an optional test pattern pack (15 test patterns and 30 reference images). Addresses the HDR needs of the industry from Device Manufacturers to HDR content Post-Production. Joint effort with Teledyne LeCroy and industry experts Florian Friedrich and Joe Kane. The solutions use the 980 HDMI 2.0 module. Verifies HDR metadata, color grading and color decoding throughout the post production process. Uses a variety of test patterns to verify HDR attributes such as: peak brightness, native contrast, average brightness level, signal clipping, and color gamut on an HDR-capable UHD TV.

Provides example of images color graded for HDR-10, P3 color, mastered at 1,000 nits.

Module will transmit the necessary Dynamic Range and Mastering InfoFrame metadata. The Dynamic Range and Mastering InfoFrame data includes an Electro-Optical Transfer Function (EOTF) and the Static Metadata. Tests covered: HDR: 4.2 Peak White, 4.3 HDR Black Level, 4.4 HDR Tone Mapping, 4.5 Wide Color Gamut, 4.6 Resolution, 4.7 Input Frame Rate and Bit Depth, 4.8 Grey Scale Tracking. Test Setup

980 HDMI 2.0 UHDA Display Compliance 4.2 Peak White (Center Box) Test There are 4 pattern renditions with the white center box ranging in size from 10% to 40% of the image. Measures the maximum luminance at the center position in Reference Mode. Measures the luminance over time for s that have a screen saver mode. Measures peak white luminance in Reference Mode. User supplies spectroradiometer to measure luminance.

980 HDMI 2.0 UHDA Display Compliance 4.3 HDR Black Test There are 3 pattern renditions. Two corner box imags and one Image Signal Black image. User supplies spectroradiometer to measure luminance.

980 HDMI 2.0 UHDA Display Compliance 4.5 Wide Color Gamut Test Pattern set offers 6 full field color patterns. Test measures Red, Green and Blue Coverage and Tolerance. User supplies spectroradiometer to measure luminance.

980 HDMI 2.0 UHDA Display Compliance 4.7 Input Frame and Bit Depth Test Verifies Frame Rate, Pixel Encoding, Code Range, Resolution, Color Space, and Bit Depth on 8 difference Video Formats. The test uses 3840x2160 resolution with BT2020 color space at 10 bit depth. Test uses visual inspection to determine compliance.
