Delivery Details (Client to UIM) Pre-Roll Spot & Post-Roll Spot 03.1. The video can be delivered like: 03.1.1 Delivery of the video as a raw file, UIM undertakes the encoding Videocodecs: Jpeg2000, FotoJpeg, Apple ProRes 422. (Compression 75-100%) or Uncompressed. 03.1.3 Delivery of VAST-Redirects Format: Codec:.mp4 vp6/h264 Video Size: 1024 x 576 Pixels up to 1920 x 1080 Pixels (16:9) Total-Bitrate: 1 Mbps 1,5 Mbps Framerate: 25. 30. 50 or 60 Frames/s 03.2. Please observe that the video material must be delivered without pre- or post-idling (e.g. technical credits, black, white or other empty frames). For optimum advertising effect the advert should start and end with picture and tone. 03.3. The spot can be delivered via a 3rd-Party on basis of the VAST2-Standards. 03.4. A 3rd Party streaming solution should include the possibility of a bandwidth query to guarantee an optimum streaming quality for the user. If the advert is delivered with a bandwidth inquiry, United Internet Media is going to limit the delivery to users with bandwidth. 03.5. Adverts must be delivered at least 5 working days before the start of the campaign. 03.6. VPAID is not accepted for Redirect. 04. Delivery Details (Client to UIM) Max Ad Formats & Video Screen Ad 04.1. Adverts must be delivered at least 5 working days before the start of the campaign. United Internet Media can take no responsibility for the punctual launch of a campaign and its faultless integration if adverts are not delivered punctually. 04.2. A maximum of three motifs can be used. UIM must be informed about the number of motifs in advance. 04.3. The more motifs provided the more effort is required by Quality Control. This means that production time prior to delivery will be prolonged by two additional days. 04.4. If 3rd parties are involved then they must provide all individual motifs at the time of integration. 04.5. Fallback graphics (gif or jpg) should be provided in case of technical difficulties, which prevent the flash advert from being shown in a browser. If fallbacks are not provided UIM reserves the right to take a screenshot of the flash advert and to use this as the fallback. 04.6. Up to 5 different click tags can be integrated into an advert. To be able to do this United Internet Media needs exact instructions allocating each click tag to its appropriate URL. 04.7. Advert labelling: The advertising media must be clearly recognizable as an advert and may only imitate copy or change page content after consent from United Internet Media. If necessary it must be labelled with for example the words Advert or Display. www.united-internet-media.de 4
05. Delivery Details (UIM to User) 05.1. A change of advert or motive during the campaign may only be implemented with tested adverts and after prior agreement from UIM. 05.2. United Internet Media reserves the right to refuse adverts that are faulty (e.g. malfunctioning local connect) or that have reaction provoking design (user irritation through colouring and motive) or that do not adhere with the general conditions for the delivery of adverts http://mediaplace.united-internet-media.de/de/servicecenter/spezifikationen/technologien/technologien.html. 05.3. Adverts should be tested in advance to make sure that they comply with regulations and provisions concerning the protection of minors. In accordance with the relevant age restriction rules United Internet Media reserves the right to limit the access/broadcasting time of the advert or to refuse the motive entirely. 05.4. Adverts will partly be played in IFrames on United Internet Media marketed portals. 05.5. United Internet Media reserves the right to set and apply a Frequency Capping for the delivery of advertising format. festzulegen und einzusetzen. 06. Adserving 06.1. If there are no other agreements, the delivery of the ad format will take place via the United Internet Media ad server. 06.2. External counting pixels can be integrated. These must be independent from the relevant click commands. 06.3. 3rd Party ad serving is possible and can be delivered on the basis of the VAST2-standard. 06.4. Measuring view time/visibility or the application of other enhanced tracking procedures with script employment must first be communicated and coordinated with UIM. UIM reserves the right to refuse this type of tracking. 06.5. 3rd Party ad serving is possible. Before each campaign it will be checked by United Internet Media. 06.6. 3rd Party ad serving of flash elements is not possible if the video files are hostet by the United Internet Media ad server. 07. Advertising Media Features 07.1. Maxi Ad Formats: 07.1.1 All MaxiAd+ formats can only be booked on the logout pages of the WEB.DE and GMX portals. 07.1.2 Videos can start automatically with sound on the logout pages of the WEB.DE and GMX portals. 07.2. Video Screen Ad: 07.2.1 At the starting situation the advertising format may not be folded out and may not automatically start to expand (without user action) (no Autoexpand). 07.2.2 The Pop-Effect is only allowed, if the user s mouse cursor is moving in the permanently visible area of the advertising format. (Mouseover). 07.2.3 The folded out area must close automatically, if the mouse cursor is moving away from the advertising format (Mouseout). 07.2.4 By delivery via the United Internet Media ad server the function call to close the layer is: fscommand( adlayerhider ) and to open: fscommand( adlayeropener ). 07.2.5 For the state expanded and not expanded separated background graphics for inside the ad must be delivered. Furthermore, ad size and video size must be specified for both advertising states. www.united-internet-media.de 5
07.2.6 The advertising format consists of the connected formats Superbanner, Skyscraper and Medium Rectange. Still it consists of only one SWF. We gladly provide you a template for the advert. 07.2.7 If the ad includes page overlapping transparent areas which make page content visible then it ought to be possible to clickthrough these areas. If this is not the case, then the size of these areas and the function of the advert may well irritate the user. In such an instance United Internet Media reserves the right to request a compulsory semi-transparent background for the ad or in its absence to reject the ad entirely. Furthermore UIM reserves the right to exclude certain browsers from delivery. 08. Audio 08.1. Sound may automatically start in adverts. 08.2. Tone in adverts must be regulated via well visible controls that can be turned on and off and regulated (sound) by the user. 08.3. Sounds may not be integrated in the loop. 08.4. The maximum sound regulation in adverts must be appropriate and may not exceed -9dBFS. 08.5. Video (Physical Delivery) 09.1. Digital raw material should be delivered in the best possible format. For optimum picture quality the raw data should be delivered in a resolution of 720 x576 pixels up to 1920 x1080 pixels with frame rates of 25, 30, 50 or 60 fps. The following formats are accepted: AVI, DV, MPEG2, WMV and MOV. The files should not be DRM protected. United Internet Media undertakes the encoding. 09.2. Already encoded videos must be delivered in the MP4 format with a resolution of 720 x 576 1920 x 1080 (16:9) pixels and a framerate of 25, 30, 50 or 60 fps. 09.3. For integration of video in the advert a SWF with own player technology must be delivered. 09.4. The integration of video in SWF must follow relative. The streaming will be done through our high-performance UIM-server. 09.5. Elements which are reloaded in SWF must be SSL-capable. 09.6. We recommend bandwidth detection by the creation of a video player and a broadband optimized delivery of the video in the advert (900kB/s and 1500 kb/s) to also present the video to users with a low bandwidth as fast as possible. 09.7. Please observe that the video material must be delivered without pre- or post-idling (e.g. technical credits, black, white or other empty frames). 09.8. The length of the video must be at least 5 seconds and unless otherwise specified may not exceed 30 seconds. 09.9. Video Looping: If delivered on our German websites: Automatic Looping of the advert is not possible. If delivered on our Austrian and/or Swiss websites: Automatic Looping of the advert is possible. The Advert can be repeated automatically for a maximum of three times. 09.10. It must be possible to close/stop the video at any time. 09.11. The control button Tone on/off must be well visible. Additionally we recommend the control buttons Stop, Pause/Play. 10. Video (Redirect Delivery) 10.1. The video must be https enabled. 10.2. For integration of video in the advert a SWF with own player technology must be delivered. 10.3. Please observe that the video material must be delivered without pre- or post-idling (e.g. technical credits, black, white or other empty frames). For optimum advertising effect the advert should start and end with picture and tone. 10.4. The length of the video must be at least 5 seconds and unless otherwise specified may not exceed 30 seconds. 10.5. Technical Requirements. 11.1. Animation in adverts may not exceed 24fps. 11.2. Adverts may not exceed a processor load of 50% on standard PCs or netbooks. Example specification standard PC: Intel Pentium IV,2,2 GHz, 1GB RAM, Example specification netbook: Intel Atom N270, 1,6 GHz, 1GB RAM. Reasons for a high CPU burden can amongst others include frame rates that are too high, quick colour change or animation. 11.3. Buttons must be defined for all clickable areas. The uniform standard for the transfer of redirects for marketer-sided click counting is the click tag method. 11.4. https is required for some special adverstising formats of United Internet Media marketed portals (see point 2. Data Sheet ssl- compatible). So by 3 rd Party tags neither codebase nor pluginspace are allowed. 11.5. Polite Download: Polite Download is a technology which first loads a smaller initial file (swf. weight according to OVK specifications) and then downloads a larger file (up to 10 MB) once the site has been fully loaded (e.g. swf, video, graphics). Alternatively this reloading process can be started 5-10 seconds after the initial loading or by user initiation (click on button, mouse over). A distinction should be made between narrow and broadband users (in particular for videos) when reloading. Basically the reloading should not start after the initial loading but after the above mentioned processes. Delivery via a 3rd party is possible if the above-mentioned processes are adhered to. 12. United Internet Media General Requirements The General Terms and Conditions still apply http://www.united-internet-media.de/de/agb/ and the general guidelines for advertising media http://www.united-internet-media.de/de/downloadcenter/allgemeine-richtlinien/.
