First we sing, then we believe. Abraham Heschel reetings, and thank you for ltening to my music and especially for wanting to sing and play along with me! t the ultimate gift to have people singing and playing my music and sharing it with others. Thank you for your support. Th the fourth D in my Songs Of The Spirit series. As with Songs Of The Spirit 1, 2 and 3, the purpose and intention of these D s the same. t s all about you singing along with me, dancing, empowering yourself, and lifting your voice with life ayrming messages. want you to feel free to make these songs your own, so give you permsion to change my words, add your own, and do whatever you need to do to make the message real for you. As with any kind of ayrmation, the more we hear ourselves speak or sing positive words, the more we will see the positive results manifesting in our lives. My intention with th songbook to give you a basic idea of how the songs go. With some songs we have changed the key to make it easier to play. We also made the arrangements very basic, so you can sing or play along with the D to see what format we used, and then create your own arrangement. have included a chart at the back of th book to help you learn about chords and transposing the key if you need help in th area. The main point though, for you to feel comfortable playing and singing these chants and songs. Play around with the notes. Add or subtract chords to make it work for you. Just have fun! am so blessed to be able to share th music with you. May these chants be a source of inspiration, empowerment and healing. Morning Prayer: Will Surrender Words & Music: Karen Drucker, David Roth & Faith Rivera just love the creative process, especially when it comes to writing songs. was asked to be part of a live radio interview with two other wonderful New Thought Artts who respect and admire: David Roth and Faith Rivera. We were sitting in the waiting room, just hanging out before we were all supposed to be on the air. David took out h computer and typed the first line of a song, came up with a sweet simple melody, then swiveled the computer in front of me. Here, you write the next line, he said to me. Always up for a challenge, took a deep breath, came up with a lyric, and then swiveled the computer in front of Faith. She wrote a beautiful line with the word faith in it. We had a few minutes left before our interview and we all finhed the last line. We laughed at the ease of th whole creative process, and wound up singing it on the air.and that was that. However, the melody haunted me and wouldn t let me go. emailed David and wound up writing the rest of the lyrics with him through email. t has now become one of my favorite songs to sing. use it as a prayer to center myself in the early morning before start my day. horus: will surrender to my greatest highest good. will release any fear that blocks my way. For every step take taken in pure faith, and am stronger every moment every day. (2nd time: grateful, 3rd time: kinder.) My mind willing and my heart open wide. trust my instincts and let Spirit be my guide. vow to live a life that's real and true and free, as continue walking in th mystery. *horus* There may be walls there may be roadblocks in my way, but can choose to take a higher path each day. And now know that what thought was safe and sound, was only habit and regret that held me down. *horus* 2009 TayToones Music, BM.. From the D: "Songs of the Spirit "

Allow, Surrender Words & Music: Karen Drucker oncept inspired by Rev. David Ault When co-facilitate retreats with my friend, Rev. On the exhale he d invite them to say, release all restance. found th to be a powerful meditation and adapted it for myself by adding music and singing, allow, surrender. added other aymations that the second group and third group can sing. Let o Of The Shore Words & Music: Karen Drucker One doesn t dcover new lands without consenting to lose sight of the shore. Andre ide On the zigzag path that has been my life, have been faced many times with the dilemma of having to choose between what was safe and secure (and sometimes old and boring), and what felt like a huge rk (but might lead to more aliveness and self-fulfillment). have experienced the rk of letting go and trusting that somehow would be led to that which would be for my highest good. The words to th song felt like a message from the part of me that has faith, to the part of that still can feel afraid. horus: Let go of the shore, and let the water carry you. Let go of the shore, float into the mystery... (Repeat) You have all you need, it s all inside of you. lose your eyes and breathe, and know that you are safe. *horus* No need to make a plan, your heart will be your compass. Just lift your sails in faith, and trust that you will arrive. *horus* 2009 TayToones Music, BM. 10. From Karen s D: Songs Of The Spirit.

During th song, find three sweet looking people and put a little angel halo on their head. am always amazed at the reactions to th simple act. Am Beautiful Words: Karen Drucker Music: Karen Drucker & John Hoy was speaking with a woman who works with breast cancer survivors. She mentioned to me that women who have had a mastectomy, or who have lost their hair through the chemo process, oftentimes feel unattractive and undesirable. She said these magic words to me: just wh they could see how beautiful they really are. heard those words, and th chant was born. My friend Sharon Harr an interrupter for the deaf. She showed a group of women at a retreat the sign language for the chant, and it was powerful for us all to sing and sign th together. The movements are in the back of th songbook. The music director, Bodhi Setchko, had made a comment that we needed to be like a bunny with your money. That cute vual gave me the inspiration to write th chant. They say, You can t take it with you when you go. No! So m gonna just enjoy myself and go with the flow. horus: My money like a bunny it goes forth and multiplies. send it out and let it go and it comes back to me in time. Am Healed Words & Music: Karen Drucker & Kate Munger Healing may not be so much about getting better, as about letting go of everything that n't you - all of the expectations, all of the beliefs -and becoming who you are." Rachel Naomi Remen have sung and entertained for years in convalescent homes and hospitals. have been blessed that my music used in these places, as well as in hospice situations. met Kate Munger, who founded and leads The Threshold hoir, * and was so moved by her work with the choir that knew wanted to work with her.to say our writing session felt like ease and grace a mild understatement. We wrote 3 chants within an hour, and had so much fun! The inspiration for th chant was the idea that someone in need of healing would be able to sing th chant and feel the healing energies from their friends, the earth, and deep within themselves. horus: Up from my feet, call the healing power. Up from my feet, draw it to my heart. t s already here; only need to claim it. Up from my feet, know that am healed. 2. n through my hands, call the healing power. 3. KD s Handy Dandy Easy Music Method Th a very basic lesson in how to do chords. Take a look at the scales on the opposite page and use th page to make chords and transpose. To make a Major hord: Play the 1st, 3rd and 5th note of the scale (1, 3, 5). Examples: =, E, F= F, A, B! = B!, D, F, etc. To make a Minor hord: Play the major chord (1, 3, 5), then play the 1st note, take the 3rd down a half a step, then play the 5th (1, flat 3, 5). Examples: minor =, E!, Fmin = F, A!, B!min = B!, D!, F, etc. To Transpose: All you need to do substitute the new chords in the key you want with the old chords of the original key. You first need to figure out what key you are in. You can do that by looking at the key signature and seeing how many sharps or flats there are, or by having someone just help you determine what key the song in. Sometimes the key might even be the first and/or last chord of the song. Next you have to figure out what key you want to go to. Try moving the first chord down a step and see if that feels better to sing or play. Then all you do take each of the old chords, look at the chart that have included here, and switch them for the new chord. t s very important to remember to take all the various numbers that might come after each chord (7ths, major, minor, any other numbers, or suspended chords). Example 1: Old key chords in the key of :, Am7, F, 7 New key chords in the key of :, Em7,, D7 Example 2: Old key chords in the key of A: A, "min7, F"min7, Esus New key chords in the key of F: F, Am7, Dm7, sus The main thing that think important there are no accidents. f you hit a wrong note (one that might not be in the chord or in the scale) and it sounds good to you, then explore it. Many of my songs have been written by hitting a wrong note and just had fun with it and made up a whole new song. So in other words let yourself play and have fun and surrender to the magic of music! 33
