This enrichment book includes a selection of activities coloring pages, cutting pages, pasting activities, mazes, simple counting activities, ordering activities, and difference finding. One activity is provided for each chapter of Among the Farmyard People and uses simple supplies that you likely have on hand: crayons, a pair of scissors, and a glue stick. Each activity page has the name of the chapter it accompanies on the top of the page for easy reference. Instructions are also included at the bottom of How to Use This Book 5
the page. The primary goal of these activities is to keep little hands busy while growing minds are free to absorb the rich language and character lessons of the literature selection. Do not feel that each page must be completed or that they are mandatory; instead use these pages as a fun and interesting activity for your little ones. Above all else, enjoy reading and learning together with your children, everything beyond that is simply an assortment of delicious trimmings. To add to your children s enjoyment of this title, having colorful board books and picture books with photographs of the animals being discussed in each chapter is very helpful. You may also wish to teach your children Old McDonald Had a Farm, adding the main animals from each chapter of Among the Farmyard People as you read it. Parents seeking to add depth to their study can also purchase separately the accompanying Teaching Guide to help older children explore scripture, vocabulary, discussion questions, student activities, and more. Copywork lessons designed to draw out the character emphases of each chapter are also available separately in a variety of penmanship styles and levels. How to Use This Book 6
