Complete parenthetic documentation. Monday, March 7 or Tuesday, March 8: Rough drafts returned. Put in final revisions to papers. Thursday, March 10: Final paper and appendix (creative piece) due. This is a brief explanation of your topic and why it matters along with whatever creative or original work you have done to go along with it.
REQUIREMENTS 2011 You must have at least four sources. Only one can be an encyclopedia. This includes electronic encyclopedias. You must have two print sources: magazines, periodicals or books. Other sources can come off the web, but be careful what you pick. Start with World Book online or ABC-CLIO as Mrs. Fox taught you. All web sources must be documented according to the attached form in this packet. I. Title Page a. Title of your paper b. Your name c. Date of paper including year d. You may include a picture, graphics or decorations of your choice. Make them fit your topic. II. III. IV. Text a. Length should be between 5-7 pages. Five is the norm. Your paper should be double spaced with margins no more than 1.25. Follow MS guidelines. b. 12-point font in readable font. (Times New Roman, Palatino, Helvetica.) Documentation: parenthetical notation a. Documentation of sources avoids plagiarism. b. In today s world, unlike your parents world when footnotes were the norm, you may document within your paper. To cite a source simply put the following in parenthesis following the passage you wish to document. (Author s name and page number). The reader will refer to your bibliography for further information. Bibliography a. Follow the form in this packet b. Your final bibliography is listed in alphabetical order on a separate piece of paper, and placed between the end of your paper and the appendix. V. Appendix a. Charts, maps, and materials to enhance your paper. b. Original artwork is always welcome because it shows effort, but you may use computer-generated work, too. c. Have fun with this section!
