(1)I had just received my product, I don t know how to set up everything! There are a few ways of setting up this product: from multiple satellite sources to your computer, from one satellite source to your computer. i. You may have more than 1 satellite dish at home, therefore, you would have to connect the receiver coaxial cable from your satellite dishes to a DiSEqC, then you have two choices: A. Connect the output from DiSEqC to your Setup Box, and then you may connect its output to the DVB-S TV tuner card. B. Connect the output from DiSEqC directly to your DVB-S TV tuner card. Page 3 of 17
ii. If you have only 1 satellite dish at home, the setup would be much simpler. From the satellite dish, either connect the coaxial cable to your Setup Box, then to the DVB-S TV tuner card, or directly to the DVB-S TV tuner card. (2)If my software installation was not successful, what should I do? Before you reinstall the software, please follow the steps below: i. Please uninstall the software completely and restart your computer. ii. Since there might be some software compatibility issues, you may have to close applications and devices such as Norton, Webcam, or Beyond TV etc. These are probably shown on the task bar, please make sure all are shut down before reinstallation. Please follow the quick guide included in the package to reinstall your software. Page 4 of 17
(3)How do I set up the satellite setting on my computer? iii. When you enter the DVB-S Plus or HyperMedia 2 software applications, you may right-click on the display window or the control panel for the pop-up menu (which may also be achieved by pressing F12 on your keyboard.) Please select Setup. iv. You will then enter the Setup Menu, please select Auto Scan. Page 5 of 17
v. If you have more than 1 satellite source and has connected your TV tuner card to a DiSEqC, please select the number of sources you are using. (1 to 4 ports). vi. Please double-click on each of the LNB setting to input your satellite source. Page 6 of 17
For example, as shown below, please click V to Enable Power, and input the Satellite and LNB Type information. vii. After you have input all setting for all of your satellite sources, please select Next. Page 7 of 17
viii. Please select the satellite sources you would like to watch TV from, and select Next. ix. Click-on Start to scan channels. Page 8 of 17
After the channel scan, if the signal strength cannot be detected, please press Back until you have reach the menu shown below. Please use the link provided below to search for the correct Frequency and Symbol Rate. (4)I want to change the LNB setting, what should I do? x. When you enter the DVB-S Plus or HyperMedia 2 software applications, you may right-click on the display window or the control panel for the pop-up menu (which may also be achieved by pressing F12 on your keyboard.) Please select Setup. xi. After you have entered the Setup menu, please select Auto Scan or LNB button under the Channel Tab. xii. Please double-click on the highlighted LNB1 line to enter LNB Setting window. Now you may modify the setting according to your wishes. (5)I want to change the frequency and symbol rate setting, what should I do? xiii. When you enter the DVB-S Plus or HyperMedia 2 software applications, you may right-click on the display window or the control panel for the pop-up menu (which may also be achieved by pressing F12 on your keyboard.) Please select Setup. xiv. After you have entered the Setup menu, please select Auto Scan or LNB button under the Channel Tab. xv. You would have entered the DVB-S Satellite and Frequency Setup Wizard. xvi. Please select Satellite Setup. Page 11 of 17
xvii. When you enter the Satellite Setup dialog, please select your satellite and modify its setting accordingly. Page 12 of 17
(6)How do I know which driver version I am currently using? xviii. Please go to Windows Start Menu, right-click on My Computer, and select Manage. The Computer Management screen will be as shown below: xix. In the left panel, please select Device Manager ; in the middle panel, please expand the Sound, Video, Game Controllers, right-click on USB PVR-TV Device and select Properties. As shown below, you will find the driver version under Driver, and Driver Version. (7)I have lost my installation CD, what should I do? xx. xxi. On the top of the page, you will see scroll down menus, please select Satellite TV for Product Series, PlusTV DVB-S / Analog PCI for Product Name, and click-on Go. xxii. You will find the latest version of the necessary softwares for your products to be in this page. Page 14 of 17
(8)If I only the the West longitude number for satellite, during setup, what should I do? The formula is as the following: East Longitude = 360 West Longitude. By using the formula given above, you can now input the East Longitude into the satellite setting. (9)Why can I not record files that are over 4GB? Normally when we use the default resolution of 640 x 480 for Mpeg2 format, after 2 hours of recording, the file will exceed 4GB. xxiii. Please check if the destination drive for your recorded files is using the FAT32 file system by going to My Computer. Page 15 of 17
xxiv. Please right-click on the hard drive in which you wish to store the recorded files and select Properties. xxv. Under the first sub-menu, you will see the heading File System, it should display either NTFS or FAT32. If the File System of the Hard Drive is FAT32, please change the destination folder to a hard drive with the file system of NTFS. Page 16 of 17
