ABSTRACT A paper entitled The Morphological Analysis Found in Tempo Magazine discussed about affixation process that is one of field linguistics, Morphology. The data of this research is five articles in Tempo magazine 1405/September 23-29, 2013. The scope of this writing is to find some kinds of prefixes and suffixes are used in Tempo magazine and to find what the dominant affix is. The method of research applied is descriptive qualitative. After analyzing the data, there are 5 kinds of prefixes, namely an-,-in-, ex-, un-, and dis-totally 12 words and 16 kinds of suffixes, namely -al-, -able -er/-ers, -ed, -tion/-ion, -ly, -ful, -ing, -ment, -age, - ce, -or/-ors, -ity, -ness, and -less totally 202 words and the most dominant of affix is suffix in this magazine. iii
ABSTRAK Kertas karya yang berjudul The Morphological Analysis Found in Tempo Magazine membahas tentang proses afiksasi yang merupakan salah satu cabang ilmu Linguistik yaitu Morpologi. Data dari penelitian ini adalah 5 artikel yang terdapat dalam majalah Tempo 1405/September 23-29, 2013. Batasan masalah dalam tulisan ini adalah untuk menemukan jenis prefiks dan sufiks yang digunakan dan jenis afiks apa yang dominan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam kertas karya ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Dari analisa data, ditemukan 5 jenis prefiks(awalan) yaitu an-, in-, ex-,un- dan dis-dengan jumlah 12kata dan 16 jenis sufiks (akhiran) yaitu al, -able - ers, -ed, -tion/-ion, -ive, -ly, -ing, -ment, - age, -ce, -or/-ors, -ty/-y, -ness and -less dengan jumlah 202 kata dan afiks yang paling dominan adalah suffiks dalam majalah ini. iv
