A half step up from F# is G. A whole step up from G is A. A whole step up from A is B. A whole step up from B is C#. This gives us the notes of the D Major Scale: D Major has 2 sharps, C# and F#. D E F# G A B C# 1

The Key Signature for D Major on the Treble Clef This is the key signature for D Major on the treble clef. The sharp symbol on the line for F and the space for C indicates that both F and C are sharp. The Key Signature for D Major on the Bass Clef. This is the key signature for D Major on the bass clef.
