Liverpool Empire Youth Ballet is an intensive dance programme for those aged 11 21 years (School year 7 and above from September 2017) during which you will stage the full scale dance production which will be performed at the Empire Theatre for 3 public performances. The 2017 production will be: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe Step through the Wardrobe and enter the enchanting world of Narnia Star in a dance adventure where you stumble upon the loveable Mr Tumnus, the Majestic Lion Aslan and many more delightful characters who help Lucy and her siblings on their quest to save Narnia from the White Witches spell. This enduring classic will be brought to life through lively modern dances and captivating ballet. As part of the project participants will also attend a workshop with English National Ballet at the Liverpool Empire Theatre on either 26 th or 27 th October.
Liverpool Empire Youth Ballet Project dates: (You must be available for all rehearsals plus the three performances 13 th and 14 th October evenings and matinee 14 th October) Auditions will be held on Sunday 25 th June 2017 Between 9am 8pm (you will not be needed for the whole duration and will be allocated a time by email by Thursday 22 nd June 10pm) Please contact Liverpool Empire Theatre s Creative Learning Department if you require any information about this project Recall auditions will be held on Sunday 2 nd July 2017 You must be in full-time education from year 7 upwards at the time you audition You must return a completed application form along with four passport photographs before 6pm on Friday 16 th June to secure your place at the auditions. We will contact you after this date with further information regarding your audition time. Auditions are free and open to everyone regardless of experience. Places limited. Photographs must be passport style and size, other formats will not be accepted as these are required for identification and licensing purposes. You can return via email, post or hand deliver to the Empire Theatre Stage Door or Box Office. You will before notified by 22 nd June via email about your audition slot Places for auditions are limited so please apply early to avoid disappointment. Auditions will take place at Liverpool Empire Theatre on 25 th June Recall auditions will take place on 2 nd July. The times above are as a guide and may change. You will be contacted via email to confirm your time. You will not need to prepare anything for the first audition. You will be take part in a ballet warm up and workshop. Following a successful audition the Project fee of 250.00 will be payable. This includes professional tuition, souvenir t-shirt and loan of costume. You may be required to provide some items of costume. Discount available for those enrolling more than one child. The project fee will also include a workshop with English National Ballet at The Liverpool Empire Theatre on either 26 th or 27 th of October 2017. Rehearsal information and Dates: Full Cast Rehearsals during the Intensive Week and Sundays. Some Tuesday evenings may also be required for some members of the cast. Dancers will not always be required for all of the dates or for the full days; times for The Intensive Week and Sundays will be confirmed and will be between 10am and 5:30pm unless otherwise stated.
