In Our Community Breakfast with Santa Breakfast with Santa will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at the Metamora Grade School. Doors will open at 8:45 a.m. for a continental breakfast and Santa will arrive at 9:00 a.m. Children can make crafts and parents have the opportunity to win one of the many raffle items and door prizes. Please bring your camera to take photos with Santa! Tickets are $5.00 at the door. Proceeds from Breakfast with Santa will go towards various community needs. Pre-Christmas Vendor & Craft Event The 3rd Annual Pre-Christmas Vendor & Craft Event will be held Saturday, December 6, 2014, from noon to 6:00 p.m. at the Metamora American Legion/ Community Center at 205 East Partridge Street. Carol s Crafty Christmas Vendor Event will take place at the same location on Sunday, December 7th, from 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Entry into the events is free and free coffee will be available. Get some Christmas shopping done early and support more than 25 local vendors and homebased businesses. Raffle tickets will be on sale for $1.00 or six for $5.00. Take a look around and if you see something you like, put your ticket in for a chance to win a prize from one of our many vendors! Prizes will be in the $15.00 - $20.00 range. A toy collection box will be available if you would like to donate to Toys for Tots. Please bring a new, unwrapped toy to donate. Also being collected will be canned or nonperishable food items to donate to the Open Arms Food Pantry in Metamora. Craft & Vendor Show The Metamora Grade School PTO will be hosting a Craft and Vendor Show on Saturday, December 6, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. If you are interested in renting a space at the event, please e-mail: mgsptoredbirds@gmail.com. Sausage Sale The St. Mary of Lourdes Men s Club will hold a sausage sale on Sunday, December 14, 2014. Sausage price is $2.50 per pound (bulk or link). To pre-order sausage, contact Bill Kessling at 645-7795. Last day to pre-order is December 7th. Sausage orders must be picked up on December 14th from 7:00 a.m. - noon at the St. Mary of Lourdes Parish Center. Dessert Theater This year s Dessert Theatre presentation at Germantown Hills Baptist Church, 304 Schmitt Lane, is a great 1950 s Christmas play called Phil s Diner. Phil s Diner is planning a special Christmas party, and we have a place reserved for you! Bring your family for great Christmas fun! Performances will be Friday, December 12, 2014, at 6:30 p.m. and a matinee on Saturday, December 13th, at 2:00 p.m. Tickets are $5 per person and include a delicious dessert. Treats for the Holidays St. Mary s of Metamora will hold a Holiday Cookie and Candy Sale from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 13, 2014. The sale will be held in St. Mary s School gym at 400 W. Chatham St. A variety of decorated and springerle cookies will be featured for $5 a dozen. Candies, mixes, and other specialty items will also be sold. This event is sponsored by St. Mary s Altar & Rosary Society. For more information, please call 367-4768. One Last Time The TazWood Dance Company will present its final concert, One Last Time, on Saturday, December 13, 2014, in the Performing Arts Center of Illinois Central College where the Company has been in residence for the past 25 years. The Company was founded by Mary Dexter in 1982 and has had its office in Metamora since the beginning. A wide variety of dances will be performed live and on video including A Comedy Tonight, Skyfall, Deck the Halls, I Will Remember, 42nd Street, children from the community in music from Frozen, audience participation with Little Red Riding Hood, and so much more. Tickets are $8 adults and $6 students and seniors and are available at the ICC Box Office (309)694-5136.
