Do not read on if you don't want surprises to be spoilt, regarding what the band played! Roger's 2008 Dark Side Of The Moon reaches The Netherlands, and an upturn in the meteorological conditions! Gone was the inclement weather - the heavy rain that fell in Granada - and thus the band were greeted with a beautiful day (and particularly evening) for the show. The first half of the concert took place in fading daylight, as Roger commented on as the band were leaving the stage for the intermission. The pig made another break for it, floating off into the sky towards the moon - as a picture below shows! On the Dutch fansite www.rogerwaters.eu, run by our friend Bert, are a lot of pictures from the gig. Click here to see them. We've also got some wonderful pictures below for your pleasure - just click on the thumbnails for larger enjoyment! A day's break, before the show resumes in Denmark's Odense Stadium. If you are going, have a great time, and let us know how it went! CONCERT REVIEW and PICTURES by BD contributor, Ron Oud Landgraaf was great last night, nice sunny weather, better than in Granada. The usual setlist was played, the first part still in daylight which was quite particular, especially to see the pig leaving for the moon as you can see in the attached pictures. Everybody played very well, also Chester was wonderful in Leaving Beirut. Jon seemed to be having a little problem with his voice but also did a great job, love his slideplaying. Can't wait for the next tour, we will be there. Many thanks to Roger and all of you for this great gig! CONCERT REVIEW by BD contributor, Bob Reilly Just wanted to say I was at Roger's concert in Landgraff yesterday. Flew to see him from Scotland. Got back home today. Was well worth the journey.

Absolutely brilliant concert!!!! Even though the flying PIG got lost into the nights sky!!!! I wonder where it is now? We thought we would see it floating over the English channel as we flew back to Scotland. HA!! Well I think everyone there including Roger was AMUSED TO DEATH!!! PICTURES from concert, soundcheck and backstage by BD contributor, Jens Evers CONCERT REVIEW and PICTURES by BD CONTRIBUTOR, Nick Spekkels Hmm, it was a bit of a disappointment that he did not show up on the 5th of May in The Hague for the Ca Ira performance, but well, luckily I also had tickets for the 11th of May. (By the way the Ca Ira performance was great! "Chappeau" for the organisation and performers). Having seen the concerts of Roger in the Netherlands 3 times in the last 2 years it was time for the 2008 version. This time it was again an outdoor concert in Landgraaf. Landgraaf is famous for its yearly festivals: Pinkpop & Pinkpop Classic. Monday the 12th of may will be Pinkpop Classic (with artists like: Fish, Golden Earing, UB40...) And the day before the same venue will be used for Mr. R. Waters.

The good thing about this set-up was that the Waters concert took place where a complete festival can take place, in other words, no lines for a beer, food or the toilets, plenty of space everywhere (not that there was not a lot of people - on the contrary, no, it was just that the facilities were well organized.) The atmosphere was awesome, it was the hottest day so far in the Netherlands this year (26 degrees C) and because Monday the 12th is a national holiday in the Netherlands it just was a perfect Sunday night and everybody was in a very joyful mood. The concert started at 8.00 pm and the setlist was as expected. The performance was great, he seemed to enjoy himself. He said he always liked to perform in the Netherlands, cause it brings back memories from the old days when they performed here... something like that, can't remember exactly, because nice beer and a hot temperature is a combination which can cause temporary brain-damage... There are a lot of reviews so I am not going to go through every song. But what I want to state that the sound was very good (wherever you stood in the crowd the sound was spot on). Also the footage displayed on the side screens were great, for example the shot of Roger and Harry Waters in one shot, on the right moment the right camera from the perfect angles, so Roger and the band were as always great, but this time some extra credits for the technical crew! For the people that still have a Waters concert coming up: ENJOY! CONCERT PICTURES by BD CONTRIBUTOR, Tomasz

CONCERT REVIEW by BD CONTRIBUTOR, Branko Markovic I saw Roger's show last year at an indoor venue in Budapest, Hungary and this year it was open air and I can say that I liked it indoor a little bit more... I want to emphasize the word "little"... Indoor is better for the light and fire effects and nothing else. Anyway it was just great!!! PERFECT FLIGHT TO THE MOON. Roger was in a great mood and made a fantastic atmosphere. Same set list like last year's show but I didn't mind it at all, I could listen to it again and again... Hope that there's gonna be at least one more tour and a chance to hear and see this great man!! CONCERT REVIEW by BD CONTRIBUTOR, Johan Banis I must say I wasn't too pleased with this show. For me it was the third time to see this show, over the past years, and I've seen better ones. For a start: the lights weren't there. The overall light- and laser-usage was much lesser than in previous years. Then: the sound wasn't too well. I was standing in the middle, 10-15m away from the stage and I had trouble hearing vocals, at certain times. The surround effects were great, I have to admit. But most of all: this show was much less provocative. It missed the sharp edges it once had. The political message was still there, but Mr Waters didn't spit it out like he did before. He nicely delivered the message, and equally: the crowd received it mildly. No boo's, no applause either. Or to a much lesser content, anyway. A man I missed: Mr Fairweather-Low. I now realise what extra power this man brings to this show. But hey: did I see a bad show? No, I did not see a bad show. I saw a great show by a great band and a great artist, but I've seen them doing it better. Much better. I think that doing this tour is a bit too much, for band and audience.

I sincerely hope Mr Waters comes back, but then hopefully with a new, fresh show. CONCERT PICTURES by BD CONTRIBUTOR, Jeroen Bartelings CONCERT REVIEW by BD CONTRIBUTOR, Mike Ford Just back from Langraaf, via Amsterdam, and a good time was had by all. What a fantastic, warm spring afternoon/evening. The atmosphere was brilliant, helped along by a few perfectly legal jazz woodbines, and the laid back feel in general. The organisation was absolutely brilliant, from getting onto the site, getting food/beer, and top of the list for festival sites, the portaloos which were spotless, even at the end of the gig, (British promoters please take note!). The sound was pretty top notch for an outside event and it was wonderful to hear everything so clearly. Another magical gig to remember for many different reasons, one being the guy in the top hat, leather shorts and clogs (which had the prism painted on each one), and another being the first pig I'd ever seen make a break for it. Can't wait to see another one, hope Mr. Waters decides to do it all again, soon.
