Suceava County Council Gura Humorului Town Hall Council Bucovina Cultural Center THE INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL AUTUMN IN VORONET the 36th edition GURA HUMORULUI, ROMANIA, 14-16 October, 2016 THE FESTIVAL S REGULATIONS The International Film Festival Autumn in Voronet, the 35th edition, will be held in the European town of Gura Humorului, Romania, between 14 16 October, 2016 The International Film Festival Autumn in Voronet is first of all a competition, an event ment to promote documentary films, video productions and audio-visual communication culture. The Festival s aim is to foster the film schools creativity, authority and professionalism in the domain, as well as to encourage contacts among different generations of film makers and embolden young film producers.. THE FESTIVAL S SECTIONS The Festival s programme contains three sections in the official competition: Documentary film section short and medium feature film College production film section - short film ( documentary, fiction, experimental film etc ) Tourist travel theme film section - short film The Festival will include other events, outside the official competition, such as preview screenings of feature length films, portraits of well-known personalities of Romanian cinematography, projections of patrimonial films from the national archive, a caravan to promote the Romanian film, workshops, exhibitions of visual arts, book launches, conferences, concerts, etc. THE JURY OF THE FESTIVAL The organisers would nominate one jury from well-known film art personalities (script writers, producers, critics, cinematographers, etc.) to preselect the film entries for the festival 1

The jury takes full responsibility for awarding or not awarding or redistributing the prizes The jury has the responsibility to decide which films can be awarded prizes by sponsors, associations, mass-media, institutions, trading companies, private persons etc, with their full agreement. THE PRISES OF THE FESTIVAL Documentary film section short and medium feature film - Prize for the best documentary film- 550 - Prize for the best production - 220 - Prize for the best pictures - 220 College production film section - short film ( documentary, fiction, experimental film etc ) - Prize for the best college production - 550 - Prize for the best production - 220 - Prize for the best pictures - 220 Tourist travel theme film section - short film - Prize for the best tourist travel theme film - 220 GENERAL CONDITIONS: The festival is open to all producers, film makers and cinematographers The festival theme is free of choice. All documentary film categories and productions done after January, 1st, 2015, are accepted in the festival. Each participant can enroll 1 or 2 productions. Romanian or English subtitling is required for the foreign films, while the Romanian ones will be subtitled in English The organisers of the festival require the films to be sent as digital files with such technical characteristics for image : mov or mp4, encoder H264, max. 20000 kbps constant bit rate, ideal resolution 1080p (1920 1080) and sound: AAC 48kHz/16bit. Films will be sent by transfer (ex. dropbox, MyAirBridge, etc), till september, 25th, 2016, to the following e-mail address: festivalvoronet2016@gmail.com. 2
By september 25th, 2016, the producers/film makers will be informed on e-mail or on telephone about the results of the pre-selection In the festival, the productions will be screened in digital format Starting with october, 14th, 2016, the producers/film makers whose films were selected will be invited to the festival, having accomodation and all meals provided by the organisers. The transport will be on their own expenses. The above mentioned expenses cover one person/film selected in the competition. The films enrolled in the festival will be part of the festival s archive and will not be returned. The organisers will be entitled to use them for promotional, didactic, educative and cultural purposes. The films cannot be used for commercial purposes. WAYS TO ENROLL IN THE FESTIVAL The participants will mail on the address festivalvoronet2016@gmail.com the following forms: - Registration form with all the required information filled in. - Films sent as digital files with such technical characteristics for image : mov or mp4, encoder H264, max. 20000 kbps constant bit rate, ideal resolution 1080p (1920 1080) and sound: AAC 48kHz/16bit. - The contestant s CV - The contestant s filmography - The film synopsis - A photography of the contestant - 1 or 2 representative shots from the film and 2 or 3 shots taken while filming. The pictures will be used for the Making-off exhibition. The contestants will authorise, free of charge, the organisers to use the information and the pictures sent to edit the catalogue and to organise the Making-off exhibition. The media can use the pictures/information for newspapers and for a TV programme dedicated to the Festival, with no finantial pretentions. No enrolling or participation fee No entrance fee to any of the events of the International Film Festival Autumn in Voronet.
