T H E U N I Q U E C E R E M O N Y AVA I L A B L E A T T H E P A N T A G E S P L A Y H O U S E T H E A T R E THE PANTAGES PL AYHOUSE THEAT RE The lavish neo-classical interior of the Pantages Playhouse marks it as the grandest theatre to be built in Winnipeg. Constructed in 1913, this theatre was the first reinforced concrete Vaudeville house of its size in North America. The theatre features plasterwork of moulded garlands, wreaths and friezes and will accommodate up to 900 persons on the main floor. As the building is an historical treasure, food or drink is not permitted in the main theatre. THE NEW L OBBY AND ROTUNDA The new lobby, constructed in 1992, provides a wealth of natural light thanks to floor to ceiling windows on both the north and west walls. The new lobby was designed to mimic the backstage experience for the theatre patrons. Architectural details suggest waving theatre curtains and equipment cases as well as real theatre lighting to illuminate the lobby. The new lobby prominently displays some historical gems. The horse hair plasterwork of an Angel as well as a companion grill vent were salvaged and moved to the Pantages before the Capitol theatre was demolished. The chandelier and the silver torch wall scones came from the old Free Press building. The original Rotunda is richly ornamented and contains some of the most elaborate plasterwork found in the Pantages Playhouse Theatre. THE KOROL ST UDIO & PRIVATE COURTYARD The Korol Studio, constructed in 1992, was designed as a rehearsal space for the Theatre. This multipurpose space continues to be used as a working rehearsal space as well as a unique performance and meeting space. Located in the lower level of the Theatre, The Korol studio features its own foyer, access to a private outdoor courtyard, and windows on the north and south walls that can flood the space with natural light. 2

I M P O R TA N T I N F O R M AT I O N F O R P L A N N I N G YO U R W E D D I N G Thank You For Considering Pantages Playhouse Theatre For Your Group Function. In Order To Ensure That Your Function Is A Success, Please Consider The Following Policies And Information Applications for rental of space in the Pantages Playhouse Theatre shall be made in writing within 10 days of a tentative verbal booking thus confirming the arrangements accompanied by a certified cheque or money order for the full amount of the required deposit. A 25% deposit is required (minimum 100 per day) to reserve your function date. Any special payment arrangements are subject to the approval of Pantages Playhouse Theatre management. The deposit is non-refundable, but is transferable to another date. Final payment for your event must be received by the Pantages Playhouse 72 hours prior to your date booked. Room Access. Venues are rented in 4 hour blocks. If you require more time, an additional charge will apply. The base rental rate provides access to the facility for the purposes of load-in, set-up, ceremony, and load out. Heat, Hydro, Water and applicable utilities are included in your rental with one site inspection. Additional site inspections will be charged at a rate of $39.00 per hour. Aside from decorating and reconfiguring the spaces, no changes will be made to the venues. Spaces are rented as is and must be returned to the original configuration at the end of the said rental. As we are a rental facility, we are required to charge for all set up time and clean up time. Pantages Playhouse cannot be used free of charge and no rebate, discount, or allowance shall be made to any person for the use of the theatre or any part thereof. Confetti. No rice, confetti, or rose petals etc, are to be thrown at any time while on the premises of the Pantages Playhouse Theatre otherwise a service charge will be added to the final invoice. The client is responsible for rental of all tables, skirting, chairs and decorations for their rental. All decorative plans and designs must be approved by Pantages Playhouse Theatre Management. 3

All prices are subject to G.S.T and P.S.T. Relevant taxes are not included in the initial 25% deposit. Prices subject to change. The Pantages House Manager must be onsite from the time that the licensee gains access to the building, until the building is closed following the ceremony or reception. This service is charged at an hourly rate of $39.00. The client ensures that Pantages Playhouse Theatre and or its employees are not held responsible for any personal injury, loss or theft suffered by the client or their agents. An Insurance premium of $40.00 per day will be added to your final invoice if you do not have insurance (minimum $5,000,000). The client agrees to accept personal and collective responsibility for any damages to the premises by its guests, or independent contractors on his or her behalf, prior to, during or after the function. P H O T O S E S S I O N S The Pantages Playhouse is available to photographers and those wishing to have their wedding photos done in our Historical Theatre. Photo session rates are billed at a 2 hour block. Theatre, & Theatre Lobby* - $350.00 Korol Studio, Courtyard, & Lobby - $250.00 * An IATSE representative must be present and will be billed to you. 4
