Mood Dear Ms. McCoy, I wanted to thank you for letting me come into your literature classroom and take-over the teaching of it for these seven weeks. I cannot explain how much I have learned from this experience. I have developed a better sense of the students of this particular age group, and of their academic abilities at this point of their education through intense observation. This has helped me to become a better teacher by giving me the experience of teaching on the fly! Another thing I have gained from teaching in your class is the sense of when the students do and do not understand a lesson by their monotonous facial expressions and the absence of attention to my inquiries. Lastly, I have had the opportunity to formally discipline my students for their incessant talking and cheating, ultimately by writing my first referral and hosting my first after-school detention. Thank you for the numerous opportunities that have been presented to me while under your supervision. With gratitude, Miss Shay

VI. Malapropism 51. A malapropism is when you a word you are trying to say with one that like it. Write the correct word in the blank next to the sentence with a malapropism. That was just a pigment of your imagination. 54. Don t is a contraption. 55. What should we do tonight? Want to order a paper view movie? 56. If you have any specific questions, come see me after class for the perpendiculars. 57. Jessie, keep your antidotes to yourself! BONUS: Doctor, is there anything you can do about my very close veins in my legs? VII. Cliché 58. Define cliché 59.-68. Underline the 10 clichés in the following paragraph. My big sister Emily and I were fighting like cats and dogs. Mom asked us to be quiet as a mouse so she could catch some zzzs, but we had ants in our pants. Suddenly, Mom blew a gasket and chewed us out. She looked madder than a wet hen. When Mom s mad, a good rule of thumb is to get out of her hair. So Emily and I stopped twiddling out thumbs and decided to go ride our bikes. Re-write the sentences without using a cliché. 69. Hey, could you give me a hand with these boxes, please? 70. Students, I am really pleased with those of you who went the extra mile to study for this test.
