Terry begins with subconscious or automatic drawing. From this, he finds images that morph into animals, people and faces, which he paints as motifs reflecting situations from his own life and memories, as well as fairy tales and archetypes. Linda paints animals in disguised emotional armour, whose undetectable feelings and thoughts reference hidden situations and traumatic events in the lives of those who experience war, violence and personal tragedy. She depicts the animals in woodland and in industrial structures, the colours and forms illuminating hidden fears and an instinct for survival.
