The vision and strategy of the Cultural Programs and Heritage Festivals Committee - Abu Dhabi aim at strengthening the sense of loyalty and belonging through the practice of the authentic Emirati heritage and the guarantee of its safeguard. The Committee also works toward the reinforcement of traditional values, notably allegiance and loyalty to the nation and the leadership as an authentic example to follow. All the activities of the Committee serve the cultural strategy of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and the United Arab Emirates and contribute to the safeguard of the cultural legacy. The top objective is to convey the civilisational and human message of the UAE to the different cultures and peoples of the world. Our nation, today, is rising to the ranks of civilised countries, with regard to development and progress in all fields. While we strive for better, the heritage philosophy always makes us very excited and longing to revisit the past and remain faithful to our roots and values. All our achievements are but an effort to continue the story of a nation that the late Sheikh Zayed has created with his heart and soul. He sowed the first seeds of love, respect, knowledge and faith. And, today, we are harvesting the fruits in the form a distinguished success on all levels and in all fields. Our accomplishments come to confirm his words and famous quotes about the love for the nation. His words will remain forever entrenched in this virtuous land, as his memory has always been. As we strive to continue the march of authenticity and modernity that was launched by late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, we are still witnessing the constant follow-up and the unlimited support of the wise leadership. With the assistance and encouragement of our leaders, the Committee has managed to use its activities to reinforce the role of heritage and revive the traditions of ancestors. This endeavour motivates the younger and future generations to follow in the footsteps of their ancestors so as to create a vital coexistence between tradition and modernity. We are pleased to extend our thanks and appreciation for His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates for his generous support of the different projects for the safeguard of heritage and for his constant encouragement of the culture of festivals and heritage activities. We would also like to thank His Highness Gen. Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, for his support of our efforts to protect authentic heritage and safeguard entrenched traditions. We also extend our sincere thanks for His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in the Western Region, for his constant follow-up and his instructions toward the protection of the national identity and the reinforcement our civilisational and human capital for the benefit of future generations. It should be noted that late Chairman of the Committee, Mohammad Khalaf Al Mazrouei, was particularly interested in national pride and tradition, including all tools, components and elements. Since the launch of the Committee, he had worked hard towards the strengthening of the values of loyalty to the leadership, and love for the nation. Every activity or programme of the Committee is closely related to the authentic Emirati heritage. We continue to encourage the practice of heritage with aim of its revival and promotion. And, we hope that we will restore to our heritage the wellmerited local, regional, and international status.
