Feb 2015 ABC CHILDREN S TV OPENING AND CLOSING CREDITS GUIDELINES Commissioned content produced for ABC Children s TV is generally co-produced with at least one, often several, domestic and international co-production partners. The credit guidelines below apply to all genres in Children s TV for productions with a running time greater than 7 00. Episodes shorter than 7 00 shall have one card at the end citing producer, director and production company/broadcaster logo. Number of credits per individual No individual shall be allowed more than one credit per episode with the exception that he or she has specifically written or directed an episode of the series. In this case, the individual shall be permitted one series production credit from the list below and an additional Writer or Director credit. Where an individual has worked across a number of disciplines during the production, the single most relevant credit from the list below should be used. 1
i) OPENING TITLES Max duration: 0 40 This section provides information on what categories may be used in Opening Credits. Programmemakers may choose from the following list of credits only. Note that opening credits may not credit the commissioning channel As well as the series name and episode title, key creative and production talent may be credited during the opening titles and over the first scenes of each episode. The permissible credits are identified below. Opening titles must not exceed forty seconds in duration. The Australian Broadcasting Corporation should be credited prior to any other co-producers on the first card. iii) CLOSING CREDITS Max duration: 0 20 including logos Closing credits should be over action: For FACTUAL/ENTERTAINMENT out-takes or a crawler over the last 20 seconds of the programme. For DRAMA a teaser of the next episode, or extra footage / behind the scenes For ANIMATION a teaser of the next episode / a short gag / outtakes The closing credits must include an ABC animated or static wave logo and an ABC TV Executive Producer credit. Only one production credit is allowed per person per episode with the exception of Writer or Director.
