MUTINAE PLECTRI a.p.s. Association organizes the Music Interpretation Seminar and Orchestral Workshop DOLCE VISIONE THE ORIGINAL REPERTORY FOR PLUCKED INSTRUMENTS in Italy between 800 and 900 - from duets to ensembles which will take place in Modena from november 2nd to November 4th, 2012 with Academy of Sciences, Humanities and Arts (59, Vittorio Emanuele Av.) and Music Approach Marconi Secondary School (110/a, Canaletto Sud St.) Seminar and Workshop will be conducted by Masters Fabiano MERLANTE (guitar) and Sergio ZIGIOTTI (mandolin)
The original italian repertory for plucked instruments between 800 and 900 was not so practised by musicians until some years ago. The main reasons were historical- cultural but, most of all, they considered the quality level of that repertory being not good enough and not appropriate for concert performances. Fortunately this opinion has changed thanks also to the growing number of researchers coming from the guitar and mandolin fields who started to investigate these musics carefully and, meanwhile, to discover the most interesting compositions among the large quantity of music pieces, coming chiefly from Magazines (Il Plettro, Il Concerto, Il Mandolino, etc.) published between the two centuries. Furthermore, a different critical approach, derived from a philologic study coming also from other instrumental circles, made it possible to evidence their peculiarities and musical value. The Seminar teachers have been performing this repertory for many years and they distinguished themselves in a strict musicological approach accompanied by original interpretation and instrumental tecnique.
