INTERNATIONAL COMPOSITION COMPETITION Award Nino Iammarino First Edition 2016 In cooperation with: Federazione Mandolinistica Italiana (Italian Mandolin Federation) Music Club P. Mascagni - Flavour of Italy Group Molise Region Molisé City Council of Ripalimosani (CB) Banca Popolare di Bari Cotidie passus ante ( Every day more ), is the spirit that pushes FMI towards new targets with enthusiasm, passion and all the determination possible. Music is firstly listening and respect, patience and generosity. It s a source of pleasure and a way of meeting other people. It is a logic language that can be enjoyed unconsciously but it is when one has learnt how to 'read' it that Music can be enjoyed at its most. This is the main task of the Federation: the development of 'conscious' listening which actively stimulates to enjoy one of the most intense pleasures of human spirituality. The Mandolin Composition Competition the Nino Iammarino award is an high profile music event which will be held in Dublin at the Flavour of Italy Group with the objective of exploring in depth the language of music and hence supporting a fully-aware way of listening the music. It is an unmissable occasion to feel and share those emotions which only Mandolin can express. Young musicians and composers will have the opportunity to express themselves in a contest of fair international competition which will inspire the candidates to emulate, to seek success, to discover other cultures, to improve one s repertoire and to share different goals by working with courage, motivation and humility. Nowadays mass media seem to drift away from culture hence we hope that the composers attending the competition will express a militant spirit to spread the art of Mandolin through society. Music reflects our vision of perfection. A world without hedges and boundaries. A world based on creativity, poetry and sharing. The art of music and in particular of Composition is far from an isolated and narrow vision of reality, on the contrary it is the art that of meeting up, sharing and discovering. Every idea needs resources and energies to come to life. Our idea would not have been achieved without the support of the friends of the Flavour of Italy Group in Dublin who decided to help us through the funds collected for the beloeved Nino Iammarino who was the first President of the Music Club P. Mascagni in Ripalimosani (CB). The City Council of Ripalimosani and the authorities of Molise Region were also very supportive as they always proved to believe in the initiatives of the FMI and especially of the Music Club P. Mascagni. This is a proof of the effort we put into our work and an incentive to work harder and harder for our associates, for the whole Mandolin world and for our Country.
