Cobke. * waf PAeAfJ *A DESCRIPTION: Correspondence, manuscripts, documents, photographs, subject, files and printed materials of Ol'ga I, Sufbotina (or Soubbotine; 1886-1963) and her grandmother, Mariia S. Benckendorff (Mary), and, her sister, Elizabeth Taube (Mrs. Harold Roberts). The correspondence includes letters and, telegrams of Aleksandra Fedorovna, Tsaritsa of Russia. The letters of Mariia Benckendorff f s son, Vasilii Dolgorukov, also provide informatioa about'; thei Imperial Family in-19l6~19l8. Manuscripts include a diary and calendar: of Mariia Benckendorff (1917-1920>> calendars of Subbotina (1929-1932, 193U-1936), and notebooks ofboizabethetaube. Among the documents are birth and marriage certificates, passports and wills. There are catalogued photographs of Nicholas II and several other photographs of the Imperial household and of Subbptina 1 s extended family,, Subject files deal primarily withv Mariia Benckendorff f s financial matters. She pursued claims to. assets lost as a result of the 1917 Revolution. The subject file entitled "Clam against the National Bank of New York" includes material about the exile of the Imperial 'family to Tobolsk and Ekaterinburg, as do other folders.
