M O T O R & G E N E R A T O R P R O T E C T I O N AUTOMATIC INSULATION RESISTANCE TESTERS Meg-Alert is an automatic, in-line insulation resistance tester and monitor with test capabilities from 500 to 5000 VDC. The permanently installed system will continuously test the dielectric strength of winding insulation while the motor or generator is off line. The Meg-Alert uses a current-limited DC test output to safely detect insulation breakdown and can alarm and/or lockout equipment from starting. This type of predictive maintenance protection can help eliminate unscheduled downtime and reduce repair cost(s). In addition, the automatic no-hands-on testing increases maintenance staff efficiency and maximizes worker safety while avoiding arc flash exposure. A color-coded analog meter output is standard with optional 4 to 20 ma signals available. Select a model test voltage closest to your motor operating voltage. Motor horsepower is NOT a factor. Select a meter output (1% or 2%) or a go/no go flashing LED output. Select a single alarm output or an additional pre-alarm output. On low voltage motors only select a single motor unit or a multiple motor unit. HOW TO ORDER Select a model for testing AC or DC generators. Select a model test voltage closest to your generator operating voltage. Generator kilowatt is NOT a factor. Determine if the generator has a grounded neutral lead. If so, select a Meg-Alert model with a ground interrupter rating capable of handling neutral current level. One ground interrupter is required per generator. Select a meter output of 1% or 2% accuracy. Select an optional pre-alarm output. On low voltage generators (only) select a single generator unit or a multiple generator unit. If multiple, choose model closest to number of generators to be tested. Select an optional 4-20 ma transducer unit for automatic data trending. Select input voltage (AC/DC) and control voltage available at your generator switchboard.
