Welcome to the Station Theatre A Railway Journey The Station Theatre is one of the best equipped and comfortable amateur theatres in Hampshire and along the south coast of England. Cleverly converted from a railway goods shed left over from the closure of the station in the 1960s, this theatre has been providing top quality entertainment since 1996. The theatre is run by the non-profit making Hayling Island Amateur Dramatic Society (HIADS) who put on around 6 HIADS shows a year and support an equal number of shows by other amateur and professional groups. The Station Theatre is equipped with modern lighting and sound systems, has stepped seating for 144, a licensed bar, tea and coffee facilities, wheelchair access, hearing loop and free car parking. If you would like to use the theatre for your own event, please contact the box office for further information. Theatre Directions by Car Follow the main road onto the Island. Followed by The Railway Siding by Jonathan Holloway, a modern work bringing the immortal tale up to date with a chilling and ghostly twist. We will show how a Brief Encounter in the 1930s can send echoes into the 21st century.
