Your Supertram Link services are changing from 28th January 2018 The consultation: From 23rd October 17th November 2017 we held an open consultation for the people of Stocksbridge and surrounding areas to give us their feedback on their SL1 and SL1a services, and how they could continue to best serve Stocksbridge and the surrounding areas. We had over 450 responses to the consultation and received lots of positive comments on the current service, and information on how we can continue to best serve Stocksbridge. Why are the services changing? As the Supertram timetable will be changing from 28th January 2018 to operate every 12 minutes between 9.30am and 4pm, your Supertram Link buses will also be changing to maintain the connections to the Supertram at Middlewood Park and Ride.

You said, we did! Over 78% of you wanted the service to continue to run both ways around Stocksbridge, so that s exactly what we re going to do. We know how important local connections are to the residents of Stocksbridge and Deepcar, so the SL1 and SL1a services will continue to run both ways around the village. You want us to keep serving Garden Village and Unsliven Bridge in the evenings - so we re going to. As part of the consultation, we suggested that removing the evening service from either Garden Village or Unsliven Bridge would help us to improve punctuality. However, the feedback we got was that this would not work for the village, so we have taken steps to ensure we can keep serving both areas in the evening and keep the buses running on time. You told us that the evening connections at Middlewood and Hillsborough were not really working, so we changed it. Evening connections from Middlewood park and ride have been improved and we will be running more frequently up to 8pm. The service that extended to Hillsborough was not connecting well with the tram, so we have removed this. After 9pm buses will run hourly. That s not all... We are also going to be making some changes to the times on the 57 and 201 buses to improve punctuality on these routes.

The SL1 service will operate a clockwise loop around the village serving; Lee Avenue, Bracken Moor Lane, Coal Pit Lane, Cedar Road, Shay House Lane, Hole House Lane, Manchester Road.
